I absolutely think that Songs In The Key Of Life is one of best albums ever made in the past 35 years. I mean, by this time Stevie had already showed his true musicianship, songwriting, producing, and arranging talents with the four landmarks that were made prior to this record: Music Of My Mind, Talking Book, Innervisions, and Fulfillingness First Finale. And he already won two Album Of The Year Grammies back to back, but when Songs In The Key Of Life was released, to me, nothing could even surpass the quality, moods, and emotion of this opus. It was definitely worth the 2 year hiatus because it was just unbelievable of how many remarkable songs he crafted and wrote during this period. The production was a little bit polished, because some of the songs had this big band sound to it and it sounded like Stevie wasn't playing most of the instruments. But I think that's what gave the record it's true magic. There aren't any weak tunes or filler material. SITKOL just proved why Stevie is a musical pioneer and why he was so accomplished back in the day. It's definitely his signature work, without a doubt. headbang

My all time favorite song from that CD is, "Flower Power". It is a beautiful song with a great melody...I found it and placed it on my Ipod. You guys should check it out.
