Its Been A Minute Since I've Listened 2 Minnie Riperton's "Petals" Album!

music

What a compilation nod and her husband's commentary in the liner notes is an +++A plus. His stories with Stevie Wonder and her are something to hear.

Not to mention the demo tape of "Seeing U This Way" and her live gig with George Benson's band doing a fast version of "Loving U".

The whole package is something else. Its a wonder 2 me how her life/career wasn't discussed in biographies(same thing should be said about Donny Hathaway and Phyllis Hyman) I think brave SANE women like her should be portrayed.

She still remains an enigma after 27 years since her death.

She was (and remains) so underrated. rose Beats the pants off of Mariah Carey anyday.

I was thinking of buying this collection, but I had mixed feelings about it because I'm not a big listener or fan of Minnie's work. But what a angelic voice and a very inspiring person!

That used my EXACT sentiment about her, up untill my auntie gave me this collection as a b-day gift.

I became an addict eversince and I still can't stop beating myself over how I missed on such a body of work.

She really embodies versatility in all kind of shapes and forms nod
