I have this CD and it's good, but you know what? I wish there was a seperate soundtrack that featured the characters in the movie.Aretha's album is nice, but since her songs are not heard in the film at all,it doesn't really feel like a genuine "soundtrack".

Some of the songs are in the movie but the cast did the vocals. Same songs just over dubbed, I remember giving him something he could feel, but I haven't seen Sparkle in a long time.

Nothing against Aretha, but I would have preferred a soundtrack featuring the characters in the movie. Then it would have been a genuine "soundtrack".There's nothing wrong with the vocals of Irene Cara and Lonette McCee...those girls could sing! Aretha was brought in to add a little "star power" to the project, which is understandable.
