Najee said: You may be right, because I bought an imported version of "Showdown," and I don't believe that album is readily available in the United States.
It's a shame that 1978's "Showdown" has not been issued, since it was arguably the last great album released by the 3+3 version of The Isley Brothers. Another that I am surprised has never been reissued is 1980's "Go All the Way." [Edited 9/18/06 19:53pm] Yeah, I have it on cassette - been trying to get a version of "Love Fever", which contains one of Ernie's best solos, on cd... It took a while for "Live It Up" to get released on cd, so maybe there's hope. My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth

This is what my post should have read: Right here, player! I like what pali posted and it's dead on. It wasn't anything the Isley's couldn't do or play and most importantly, they would still sound like themselves. They would do cuts like "Summer Breeze " and "Hello, It' Me" and straight OWN that shit. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Speaking of songs they own, their "Love the One You're With" is my favorite version. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

It took a while for 'Live It Up' to get released on cd, so maybe there's hope." It took a long time for "Live It Up" and "Harvest for the World" to be released in the United States. I bought both albums and "Showdown!" on CD as imports, and paid $25 for each. [Edited 9/19/06 18:01pm] THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. An essential collection for Isley fans, because (I believe) it's the only domestic Isley Brothers CD with Coolin' Me Out. my apology --I meant to say that the funky family cd has jams on it that NONE of the other trizillion greatest hits from the isley brothers have. they hit the nail on that one nipsy

Don't forget, it was the late 70's...after, P-Funk, Kiss, and Glam- Rock, all these groups were dressed up in huge hats, spandex, glitter, Lol!!! Of Course, then the Isleys would always take it completely over the top by throwing on a bunch of leather and fur that would stun Conan the Barbarian ...like they were thinking, "Ehhh...the skin-tight cowboy outfit ain't enough....here, throw this bear coat on over it....Yeah, that's the ticket!!" ... ...
