i wouldnt say it is.
funky town is more of pop disco sound,mineapolis sound is something like the time's albums,rhythm nation,ready for the world "oh sheila"
miniapolis sound is synth drumm machine with a stagnant funky beat and breaks on the one.

Not really, its standard pop disco, dance, it merely hit at a time when Prince was big with 'lover'(early 1980) but it was cut in like early 79, b4 Prince was an influence, altho apparently he had met Cynthia Johnson
