Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
Adagio - Albinoni
If I was your girlfriend - Prince

To surrender :
Hills and Valleys - Buju Banton
Free - Prince
Mozart

I usually feel better after that and can ply my 80'list, and dance like a pony would.

Spookymuffin

Thom Yorke - Harrowdown Hill
Secret Machines - Alone, jealous and stoned
Most of The Fragile by Nine Inch Nails
Most of Still by Nine Inch Nails
Radiohead - Let Down
Radiohead - Karma Police
Radiohead - Lucky
Arcade Fire - Neighbourhood*1 (Tunnels)
Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart
Gary Numan - I Die Your Die

shrug

Mainly because I either associate these songs with memories of the good/bad, or because the lyrics say exactly what I feel (that would be what NIN do)

trouble man is on the jukebox in our local pub. it accompanies our pool playing. which is always quite depressing. My favorite downer 'song' is Our Underwater Torch, by Tom Jenkinson aka Squarepusher. That or Cantus in Memorium Benjaimin Britten by Arvo Part, which is so depressing i actually play it when i'm feeling too happy, just to maintain a sense of balance...

also, how can you hit the bottom of a wall when traditionally, a wall is 90 degrees to the horizontal (ie vertical), so following Newton's law of gravity, if you were travelling ever downwards, you couldn't possibly meet the bottom of a wall, as you would also be travelling at 90 degrees to the horizontal (ie vertically), and so be forever adjacent to the wall.....

When I'm depressed I usually can't stand listening to mopey, morose music. I'll generally listen to really hard metal when I'm down - Emperor, Dimmu Borgir or Megadeth, something along those lines. I find it very effective for ...errr... clearing up my sourness, I guess I'd say. I usually find I feel much cheerier afterwards.
