2006 Grammy Nominees "any predictions"

Well with the deadline approaching for the Grammy nominees, just curious if anyone had any predictions of artists they think will be nominated. Im thinking it will be a stronger year for older artists, expect to see Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, get alot of consideration, there has been alot of talk about the new Elton John project, i think Bon Jovi will possibly get their first grammy win, their hit "who says you cant go home" was a crossover success for them and i think Jovi have fallen into that category of "they never won anything?". I think India Arie and Anthony Hamilton will get consideration as will Prince in their respective fields. Beyonce will most likely get nominated in the female fields, and most likely Christina too. Expect to see Gnarls barkley get some looks too, im sure James Blunt will too though i cant stand this guy. Other artists i think will get Nominations will be Pearl Jam,Rihanna,Nelly Furtado,Shakira and PCD. And just as a wish, i would love to see Cheap Trick get a nomination for their finest work in a long time "Rockford" though it may have been a "Blip" on the charts, great work nowadays usually is a "blip" on the charts.

And just another prediction for the upcoming releases for the Fall/Holidays, everyone is predicting the biggest sellers to be Justin and Beyonce, but i think its gonna be Manilows new CD out in October which is his Songs of the 60's a follow up to his Platnum #1 album, Songs of the 50's, i will laugh my ass off if he has another #1 album this year, and beats these kids.

I expect Bob Dylan to get most of the nominees. And I even see him winning "Album of the year"

Are you kidding? They've paved the way for all the no-singing lip-synchers that are the norm these days. nod Looking back, Milli Vanilli is no big deal now. lol

They deserve their Grammy back IMO. razz Well, the one that's left does anyway. biggrin

If Beyonce gets 5 Grammy Awards 4 her awful B'day, I am going 2 b pissed. Very much. However, if Christina Aguilera gets at least 2, I'll b fine. I think Beyonce gets more credit than her work deserves and that truly gets on my nerves - the best proof of that is BEYONCE and PRINCE per4ming 2gether. I hated that!!!

I thought this album was going to flop but since it looks like it will be one of the years bigger sellers, I assume she will get nods and awards to boot. I have no real predictions other than that and probably Bob winning album of the year just based on the buzz that no other album has this year. It would suck if Madonna doesn't even get a nod, but considering how COADF came on strong then quickly died, I wouldn't be shocked if all she gets is a dance nod and maybe a remix nod (hopefully for PSB mix of "Sorry", which should also win). Prince might get a few in R&B. Same for Mariah (did she win any last year) for a few of the later singles (mostly "Don't Forget About Us").

Ok, maybe I had a few predictions!

The NARAS already announced last year they won't nominate Mariah 4 the Ultra Platinum Edition of The Emancipation of Mimi, y?, 'cause they hate Mariah. It's obvious - she's been nominated 31 times and only won 5. But "Don't Forget About Us" is not a great song so I'm not bumped.

CORINNE BAILEY RAE - I feel U, but my favorite album of this year - in fact, the only albums released this year that I've heard r "3121," "Back to Basics" and hers. Also India.Arie's which I absolutely adore.
