I was going to have class yesterday but it was cancelled because of a strike. So I gotta chance to listen to Janet be interviewed about her new CD on the Hip-Hop station and later tonight she will be interviewed by the Shady 45 station (which is hardcore rap). I think this is a huge commentary on the record, which the guy said he listened to already and it has a crunk song, besides "So Excited". Ouch! The interview didn't reveal much (other than Khia and Nelly are the only rappers....why they have to appear on the first two singles, I don;t know...). Any new of other promotion coming up?

i thought nelly was the only rapper?



its official folks...im not buying this album...janet is dead to me now.

Khia is on "So Excited" but just barely. Frankly, Janet could've done her vocals (she doesn't really rap much...it sounds a lot like the chant from Busta's "Touch It", which was borrowed from some techno song, right). I know, the fact that she is going on the hip hop stations rather than the R&B stations (although I think she did do Heart and Soul, which plays softer R&B like Alicia Keys, Mary J. Bliege and Prince and stuff in that vein. I say a picture of her with one of their DJs. Anyway, it would be cool if she was doing the pop stations and heaven forbid, the dance hits station, but whatever. She even said in the interview that fans were looking forward to the more upbeat songs...and she is giving us "So Excited" and not some real funky dance tracks!

I just skimmed over a Billboard article and it she says she was adamant about having dance be a part of it. She says it full of samples, so I assume more "So Excited", less "All Nite"...Doh! I think if it were honestly up to Janet, the fans would really get the kind of dance album they are craving from Janet, mixed in with some really soft ballads. I think it's JD and the label pushing the R&B element.
