Now Justin Timberlake is channeling Prince and MJ???

Justin Timberlake — JT couldn't have picked a better venue and a more appropriate day to debut his new single, "SexyBack." The track jumped 30 slots to land at No. 1 on the U.S. singles charts this week. His performance channeled the two musical giants of the '80s — Michael Jackson and Prince. Twenty years ago, both were at the top of their game and never collaborated. Justin is the closest we'll have to that.

ABC News should be shot! This kind of awful, lazy, careless and inaccurate journalism almost makes me regret receiving a degree in the field!! I've never seen Prince or MJ give as lackluster and unpolished a performance as JT's on the VMAs. His voice sounded awful, his moves were forced, he was trying too hard to be sexy, and his walking around and shouting with Timbaland was just plain lame. He doesn't possess the magnetism of either Prince or MJ.

I don't know if part of his PR plan this go round is to equate him with Prince, but the comparison is fundamentally flawed. I am already sick of hearing it. Everyone who attempts to sing falsetto or act sexy does not merit a Prince comparison.

I agree JT can not touch Prince or MJ talentwise.

But if you hear the song "Damn Girl" from his new album. He about pulls it off. Lyrically , vocals and music. I could see the man doing this. Complete with a Tony M. ish rap provided by Will.I.Am.

>>>You got me saying
Damn girl..... you're so fine
The way you let me put it down, girl
Blows my mind
I guess I gotta put it down tonight
I gotta put it down
Ohh Ohh Ohh

I said there something 'bout the way you do the things you do
When you do the things you do
It's got me Ohh Ohh Ohh

I understand where you're coming from, but didn't Prince do this song on the prince album sans Tony M? It was called Damn U - different tempo, same sentiment.

Justin lacks originality. Prince and MJ are originals. They may channel their influences in different ways, but they remain original.

I'll bet a bunch of James Brown or Jackie Wilson fans would say the same about both of them.

you know,I'm getting sick and tired of people comparing Justin to Prince and MJ mad JT is just a lame wannabee with NO original ideas of his own. He's stealing from the great artists that came before him.Young kids would be better off buying copies of 'Off The Wall' and '1999',so they can hear how it's really done! I am fed up with all these posers, wannabees and never-will-bees.Justin is a pale, worthless imitation of Michael Jackson.
