Mark "Drac" Hicks ( ex-SLAVE ) releases a "Live"-DVD with his unit .

The veteran Ohio funk outfit takes you on an ear-splitting, body-rocking "Slide" thru some of the most legendary, heaviest, stanky old skool funk grooves and beats ever committed to wax. Check out this rolickingly raw DVD recorded live in Long Beach, California. Although Lakeside was the headliner, Slave literally lit up the stage with an exploding funk bomb that left most of the club’s SRO crowd in a shambles of funk-da-fried bliss. The street funk groove is unleashed by the searing , guitar-slaying assault of the leader, Mark "Drac" Hicks.

These boys commanded the stage in the 70s and today is no exception. Drac & company treat you to a mere sampling of some of their 20 + charted singles that dominated the Soul Charts during their run as late 70s/early 80s dancefloor kings. Therein you’ll find razor-tight versions of such memorable titles as "Watching You", "Weak at the Knees", the aforementioned "Slide", "Wait for Me" and other stanky grooves that’ll wet your appetite for more!!!! A Funkstore exclusive.

I have this. Take it from an original funkateer who bought their first album (and every one thereafter) as soon as they originally came out, this DVD is disappointing. It has God-awful production values that mar the enjoyment and the performance is not good enough to compensate for it. I think Drac is the only original member in this lineup. Also, it is only about a half-hour in length. Man, I wish I had video of them in their prime!

Peace,
Scott
If you've got funk, you've got style.

I was afraid of that ... once i read about another dissapointing show from Drac's camp . It was also written in there that the synth-players used kinda cheap Casio-styled equipment .
