Maxwell's W/As My Girl and Symptom Unknown Excellent tracks from "Now". On the track "W/As My Girl", Maxwell displays empassioned vocals, the incorporation of steel pedal guitars and lyrics about love and loss, which create a somber mood that permeates through the song for its running time a little over 3mins and 15secs. I love songs where the artist never mentions the title and or where there is no chorus, this song incorporates both to perfection. "Symptom Unkonwn" is another track that incorporates something sorely missing from today's music, esoteric song lyrics. I really miss songs like these that aren't straight forward in lyrical content and actually force the listener to elaborate on the message the writer is trying to get across. I wish more of today's singers would attempt songs like this. However, with the commercial climate running the music biz, many artist will steer clear of this territory. Unfortuantely Maxwell never gets any credit for the various techniques and styles he incorporates on his albums. Many dismiss him as derivative or simply as a pretty boy, fortunately his peers and true music lovers appreciate his talents.

MAXWELL IS THE BOMB!
I don't know how any Prince fans could not also be into Max...such gorgeous falsettos, driving funk workouts and damn style 2 match!!! His sophomore album was his own DIRTY MIND in the sense that he totally departed from his smooth R&B debut URBAN HANG SUITE and released EMBRYA which is one of the most emotional and personal albums i've ever heard... He is currently on tour in the US - catch him if u can ; http://www.musze.com I sincerely want 2 fuck the taste out of your mouth
