Grammy nominations 2002---early predictions

I know it's a little early to be thinking about the Grammy nominations, but what albums/songs/artists/bands do you think have a good shot at getting nominated? Here's a few early predictions...

***Best New Artist---(these artists will get nominated)

Norah Jones---she is the critic's darling of the moment

Remy Shand---he deserves to win,imo

Ashanti---her debut CD broke sales records,so it's a safe bet that she won't be overlooked by the Grammy voters

***Album of the Year---

Bruce Springsteen 'The Rising'---is anyone surprised?

Santana 'Shaman'---Carlos' CD comes out on October 15,will it still be eligible for a Grammy?

Norah Jones---'Come Away With Me'

Other artists who might get a few nominations...

Lauryn Hill---her "Unplugged" CD may get a few nods in the R&B categories

Mary J.Blige---she had a great year, with her 'No More Drama' CD

Eminem

Grammy deadline will be October 30th.

Not too late for Prince to release "she loves me 4 me" for more of a major release, ala video, even if it was just him sitting on his chair performing it ala the Celebration.

been a rather weak year musically.

Also, do not count out the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Do not count out New Found Glory for best New Aritst yet as the grammy's would most likely give it to a group then Ashanti, which is not a critic darling, & rightly so since hr biggest hit is again a sample.

The biggest need of a grammy push & she will def get it IF her cd comes out the time it does & that would be Mariah Carey. This is her make or break cd n will have more people attention then her past records. Hmm, how many grammy's has she won? Wonder if that had anything to do with her being married to the president of Sony, which obviously did not sit will with NARAS.

As well as the yet to be released Whitney Houston record.

Since you are mentioning Santana even tho the cd has yet to be released, I felt I would bring them up.

Seems to me all of you are expecting Supernatural part 2.

'Supernatural part 2'? No,the only reason I mentioned Santana is because he's doing the type of album that Grammy voters love...a big, heavily hyped project featuring an eclectic mix of guest artists like Sting and Bob Dylan. Those types of albums always get noticed when Grammy time comes around.

I'm sure the Usual Suspects will get nominated but how twisted would it be if they Nominate Michael Jackson for a few Awards to Just act like what He said isn't all true??Award Shows are all Manipulated anyway&something twisted like that would add a helluva Spin.I See Murder INC getting a Couple of Awards,Kenny Chesney winning some,Forrest Gump Springsteen Winning&anything else is up for grabs.

Lenny Kravitz might get nominations. He's won the Best Rock Male performance (or whatever it's called) a few years in a row.

Pink's been really succesful this year. And her labelmate Avril, might get a Best New Artist nomination.
