2006 Concerts

Has anybody checked out any concerts this year? I haven't had an opportunity to check out anyone sad . If you have-who was it? I guess I'll be waiting for Prince's tour next year or whenever it goes down nod.

I saw Chaka 2 weeks ago. The turn out was really low. I was shocked and sad that there wasn't a better turn out for a legend such as Chaka. sad

I know. I went with my sister and she was just as shocked as I was. She said she saw Teena Marie at the same venue a few weeks earlier and it was filled to capacity. I just don't understand why the same love wasn't shown to Chaka.

She was at Chene Park, which isn't a large venue. There were many empty seats.

I didn't know that the Jazz Festival was this weekend, but now that I know, I might have to check it out. nod

i've seen a few this year.

so far the best...by far...has been PEACHES w/ EAGLES OF DEATH METAL.

that show kicked my ass up, down, to one side of the room and then back again. bow

sonic youth, eels and go! team at lollapalooza were great.

tamar and prince were great.

i can't think of anything i've seen this year that was just awful.

next up is joan jett w/ eagles of death metal in october. headbang

This year I've seen...

The Ark (Los Angeles)

Tigercity (Lower East Side, NYC)

soce, the elemental wizard (Lower East Side, NYC)

Morningwood (Williamsburg, NYC)

Hot Chip (South Street Seaport, NYC)

The Presets (twice!) (Los Angeles & Hollywood)

Lady Sovereign (Central Park, NYC)

Also, I have lined up...

Goldfrapp (NYC)

Scissor Sisters (NYC)

Van She (NYC & Modular Monthly) (twice!)

Chromeo (NYC)

Nelly Furtado (NYC)

The Presets (3rd & 4th times!) (Virgin Union Sq. & Williamsburg)

Tigercity (2nd time!) (Lower East Side, NYC)

And I'm trying to see if I can make it to the UK to go a music festival and to catch the Infadels. If my scheduling doesn't conflict.

Plus, more dates as they develop.

Really? Hmm. I have their last 3 albums. I like them a lot, but drink lots of coffee or you'll fall asleep. They're one of the most soothing acts this side of Bill Evans.
