I dunno. She was the drummer/ comedic Morris Day-ette of the group Klymaxx.
They were nice. Had a couple hits.
"Meeting in the Ladies' Room"
"The Men All Paused"
"I Miss You"

Damn, I ain't know she had a solo album. Is it her just talking and shit?

"Don't slap me, cuz I'm not in the mood."
"Radar!"

Her haircut was banging back in the day.

And to me that was one of the weakest cuts on the album. Why that was the lead single, I don't know. I guess because it fit her persona that she was pushing at that time.

Do not get me started on Madame X! That is my album right there. Did anyone else own the Alisa album (on of the chicks from MX)? Bernadette Cooper produced that one too. It's a good album.

So I broke out the Drama cd last night and the "Underground" is the cut yo!

2 MNPLS-collabo's i can recall are Coop's co-production with Brownmark on Mazarati's 2nd unreleased album ( from which 2 singles above )
The album sounds unfortunately not as slammin'as their debut project .

Jam & Lewis produced some cool tracks like Wild Girls and Heartbreaker ( I'm Such A Mess ) on Girls Will Be Girls ( 1982 ) , their finest album to date ( imo )

I got 'em both. I LOVE the Madame X album. I think I was the one that told you about Alisa's solo album which has the other girls on some of the tracks so it's almost like Madame X II.

Like what some others said, Bernadette Cooper was a female version of Morris Day -- a vain, preening persona that imagined everyone of the opposite sex was hers for the taking. Cooper even made some of those silly facial expressions Day used to make and both were drummers, not to mention I thought they somewhat favored each other.

Unlike Day, Cooper was not a leader singer for the band but most of Klymaxx's most memorable songs had her stamp on them. She is the one rapping on songs like "The Men All Pause," "Meeting in the Ladies Room" and "Sexy."

THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. HOLD ON TO YOUR DRAWERS!
