it can't be all bad, can it? We all do our share of bitching about the state of modern music (and rightly so!) but I think there's still some gold in among the current crop of shit. I challenge you, dear Orgers, to name recent acts that you think are worthy. I'll start:
Metric Bloc Party Sam Roberts Bedouin Soundclash "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Michael DeLorenzo is the only new artist I been digging for the last five years. He recently released samples for his upcoming debut CD on his myspace page (see my sig). I been a huge fan of his as an actor for 10 years now and he is very talented at his own right as a songwriter, musician, and performer and does music in pop, Latin, and even soul. He even can sing too. He have trouble getting a record deal over the last couple years because of his age and he is someone who sort of reminded me of Prince when comes the ability to do crossgenre as a record company wouldn't know how to promote him as a Latin, pop or soul artist, since he can be all three and plus more.
anyone else for the last five years is um. shit!!! I am still thinking.. Now for the last ten years my list is longer and that would be Emimem, Destiny Child, Missy Elliott, Total, Tasha Holiday, Brownstone, Case, Changing Faces, Shania Twain, Fugees, Horace Brown, Kelly Price, and more. Like I been sayin on here when doing topics like this, good music ended in my opinion after 1999.

Technically, the artists in bold had already released records ten years ago. Shania Twain too. But shouldn't there be more to being a country music superstar than being a hot sometimes-redhead with an old Native name meaning "about as Native as schnitzel"? "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

I think the problem is that even though some good music is published, nobody buys it! Or they sell like 2000 records... pull your cell phone out and call your next of kin; we're about to get funky

FWIW, I go through and open every thread I've been following that has new posts in a new tab. Then I go through them, reading and commenting. Thanks for the interest! But her music is mediocre at best. By no means the worst of the lot, but nothing special, either. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"
