Technically the argument is not BEATLES, STONES or ZEPPELIN, but really ZEPPELIN or THE WHO. The latter being for the best arena rocker and the former puts Zep in the wrong class of pop-rockers. QUEEN has always reeked of pop rock and struck me as effeminate and artsy, so I couldn't group them with ballsy blues-rock bands, though Brian May could certainnly axe-molest that guitar.

Of Course PINK FLOYD was as big as THE WHO or ZEP, but, back then, everybody dug some FLOYD, so it wa "no contest".

heart Hot Space is an extremely hot and spacey album. Freddie and Queen get my respect, They're right up there with Prince on my Orgas-O-Meter. However a few of their trax (ie The Invisible Man and lesser known trax like Don't Try Suicide) are overly cheesy and I'm assuming they lost a lot of popularity because of Freddie's image and the fact that Roger Taylor spent most of his life looking like a girl. More ignorant people dismiss them as a "gay" band and forget that their favorite songs, Killer Queen, Bo Rhap, Another One Bites The Dust etc are all by Queen.

PS I joined Queenzone about 4 months ago and I can't seem to post at all sad It keeps asking me to log in.

Oh please. rolleyes You could say that about any artist though. Their songs only "matter" to their fans. That's like saying that Prince only made three songs that matter: When Doves Cry, Little Red Corvette, and Purple Rain. confused

If by using the term "matter" I suppose you mean in terms of the top-40 listening, no music collecting, general public who really don't want to or care to dig deeper. You can't possibly say that their music didn't matter in terms of their place in music history, production, and influence. They're one of the most influential bands of all-time, and that is something that's not even debatable. For you to say otherwise, just shows ignorance to that fact. I think people really DON'T realize their importance and influence and have that same attitude as you because they aren't aware that they in fact did have more than 3 songs. confused They didn't release singles you know.

lol, I knoooow led Zeppelin are hugely influential and important , thats why I made light of the comment ( see the hehe at the end ? ) . I've heard 2 of thier albums actually ( the one with STH on and some other one I can't recall ) but the fact that they didnt release singles probably backs up my comments that their music isnt really well-known outside of their fanbase . Relative to other acts like The Beatles and Rolling Stones ( who I dont own any albums of either , though I've heard a few ) their music is practically unknown , whereas I could sing a fair few dozen beatles songs without considering myself a proper "fan" per se .

All I have to say about this post is: eek You don't own any Beatles or Stones albums?! omfg

Your on Queenzone, whats your username on there? Mines is RETROLOVE!!

I've never heard Mustapha cause I've never owned their 'Jazz' album...I've never have owned Hotspace either but plan on getting it, its GREAT LIVE!!!!!

I like 'The Invisible Man'...I think I might be the minority when I say that, but it has that 80's thang going on with it, I like the bass in it!!!

LOL @ Roger looking like a girl...I dont know if it was intentional?

Yeah, its stupid but I guess because they were a 'gay' band, people saw them as being a threat??? I was born in 1983, so I guess I just dont understand...lol
