Barrington Levy

I love this guys music smile . When I was married to my ex who just happens 2 b Jamaican I was introduced to his music. My fav tune from him is "Too Experienced"- heart it and the song that he did with rapper Shyne. Does anybody know anything about his albums? If so, which one should I purchase first to get me started? Thanks in advance, Nurse kiss2.

I love Barrington, his voice is one of a kind. If you liked, his version of "Too Experienced", you might like the original that was done by, Bob Andy. Barrington's was actually a remake.

Thank you guys....Some, of those song from that era, late 80's early 90's are based on old studio one songs that were done years before. Another one that comes to mind is "Pass the Dutchie by Musical Youth. The original was called "Pass the Kutchie". It was done in the late 60's early 70's. It had a totally different meaning. When I listen to people like shabba Ranks and Bonty Killer, I sit and laugh cause I have most of the studio one tracks that some of today's reggae is based on.

I dunno. I don't believe he is. Sean Paul took his place as the most "Un-Understandable" rapper in the world. Incidently, If you remember Sean Pauls first song, "I'm sill in love with you", check out the "dub plate" by, Althena and Donna called, "Uptown To Rankin". This is where Sean Paul got the music for the aformentioned song. Sorry to kill u with all of this info. I just think that people should be informed.

Barrington is also one of my favorite reggae artists - "The Original Rude Boy!"

There are several greatest-hits compilations of his music, but I recommend The Best Of Barrington Levy: Broader Than Broadway because it contains two of his biggest hits (as well as being 2 of my favorite songs of his): "Here I Come" and "Under Mi Sensi."
