Beyonce's Freakum Dress Usually i dont download stuff especailly when i know im buying the cd anyway but i was curious about this because i heard alot of praise for this song. However, no offense, but FreakDrum dress is a Freaking Rip off of Amerie "One thing", i mean its a blatant copy, its also very similar to Ameries "Talkin Bout". really wow, and Wendy Williams an the gang where saying "ring the alarm" is a rip off ok Kelis "i hate u so much right now".
It seems like B-team is trying to go for the sophmore flop. I heard the album was done in a few weeks that seems like a rush job for such a megastar. I hope she does well my B-day is sept.5 her realese date.

You know what, I'm not a hater. I downloaded the entire CD from the net. It's absolute crap. It's rush and songs remind me of other songs without even trying to disguise it.

I hope she does well my B-day is sept.5 her realese date. I can hear that...yeah. It's very strange that a star as big as her did an album this quickly and quitely...I guess she is trying to prove herself as a real artist and independent of the label (BTW, maybe she should have gotten some advice from the label on the album cover....worst of the year and makes photoshop jobs look great by comparison). I do like upbeat tracks but so far what I've heard from the album isn't all that impressive. It's going to be a terrible year for sales....

I doubt very much that its "Live" instruments, im sure its a sample or a Drum loop, but it actually sounds like the same track that was used for "1 thing". This is why i say producers today suck, this is the same producer that Amerie used and hes still stuck on the same beats, the same with Pharrell and Timbaland, we really need to stop giving props to these so called producers "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

It is NOT the same loop used on Amerie's "One Thing". It has a very similiar feel, though. It has the same build up as "Crazy", which I suspect was produced by the same dude but I'm too lazy to go check the CD right now. Yep, he repeats himself. Still, I like the track. I don't need a reason to like it. I just do. Without giving props to anyone, its just that simple for me. Of course, I've only listened to it a couple of times. i may hate it a week from now. The CD does sound unfinished but so does most of the stuff out to me.

Im not saying that its a bad track, just a repeat of "1 thing" and totally identical to "talkin bout" which is another Amerie track. Not saying its bad, cause i like Amerie, just saying that in general props are given to producers like Timbaland, scott storch, JD, Pharrel etc. when they really arent doing anything but using a beat from someone else. thats all i meant. Also to show Beyonces power and her fathers, Ameries 1 thing was done first but held back so she could get Crazy in Love out first so Amerie would look like the wannabe. That might be a bit paranoid..."1 Thing" was released like a year after "Crazy In Love"....not even sure if that's really considered a legit claim.

No this is totally true, Amerie had the track and it was done and leaked out long before she started even recording her album. The label said NO but her and her Producer leaked the track to clubs, SONY then got bombarded with requests but held off because Amerie didnt have a Full album ready to go (and in their eyes not enough star power), and lo and behold Beyonce pops up with a carbon copy. Do not doubt the power of Beyonce and her dad at Sony, I mean it wouldnt be the first time someone did something like this. It had that Snakes On A Plane-ish support once it was leaked, but I had no idea Poppa Knowles was the reason. • Did you first think Prince was gay? •
Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

Oh yeah Mr. Knowles has got some power, I mean Beyonce is like the franchise at Sony, so if Mr Knowles says shelve Amerie until "my baby" can put her stamp on this sound first, do you think sony is gonna side with Amerie? You are correct about Mathew Knowles' power with the label. My ex wrote material with Beyonce around the time Independent Women was being released, shorty before DC exploded into the stratosphere fame wise: one thing is certain about that family and her father in particular; the man is an absolutely. formidable. presence. ...and besides, labels switch around and push songs forward and backward all the time. I used to watch it happen to my ex constantly and what I learned is that apparently it's simply a matter of siding with who's the current cash cow for the label and who can swing their "weight" around the heaviest to get their way. Sounds harsh from our side of the fence, but it really is kind of business-as-usual for those people in that industry.

I didn't think of "1 Thing" when I heard this song, but the chorus of "Greenlight" definitely reminds me of "1 Thing".
I'd say I prefer "Crazy In Love" to "1 Thing" just because of the horns and the fact that I cannot stand Amerie's voice--she gives me an ice cream headache. However, "1 Thing" to my ears has more in common with that JLo song "Get Right" than it does "Crazy In Love." It's weird though....the performances I've seen of her doing "1 Thing" reminded me a lot of Beyonce's "Crazy In Love." And as far as Beyonce learning from Amerie, well, not in the performance area. To me Amerie always looks and sounds like something from a high school talent show or something. I'm not gonna lie, I like "Freakum Dress." And, I don't know if she made this CD in two weeks or simply recorded it in two weeks, but whatever...I like quite a few of the tracks [Edited 8/27/06 23:04pm]
