Who bought Idlewild?

Please don't comment unless you've listened to the album!

Anyway, what are your favorite and worst tracks?

I really like the album alot. It has me excited to see the movie and I amazed that Outkast has all of this creative energy still in them.

It's only set to sell 200k the first week because I think people are still viewing it as a soundtrack. I really hope people don't sleep on this album.

I loved SB/TLB and it almost seems like I like this one better. My current favorite song is The Greatest Show On Earth. Macy Gray actually sounds good!

I haven't picked favorites yet. Right now I'm feelin' Chronomentrophobia. Maybe its the singing clocks. lol That's straight up Parliament-lite.
Also N2U is pretty tight.

I ususally don't either but she actually sounds good to me on this. For some reason, I can't really get into the album unless I'm listening to the whole thing.

I bought the album on Thursday and I just got finished listening to it and I liked it. It's a pretty good 'Kast CD, but it definitely wasn't worth the wait because first of all some of the weak joints need to be omitted and some of the stronger ones needed to be a little longer. Secondly, the album goes in these different directions and becomes a little bit muddled after awhile. Dre experiements more on this album than he did on his Love Below joint which is impressive and Big Boi (the better of the 2 on this album) is just rhyming with the urgency and ambition we Kast fans love. But I liked it and it shouldn't be slept on.

Favorite Joints

Mighty O
Peaches
Idlewild Blue
Morris Brown
Chronomentrophobia
Life Is Like A Musical
Train
Hollywod Divorce
PJ & Rooster

I dig it.
The p-funk cut bad note and the Purple rain like cut.....with the backward moan are cool. I dig the 50/60's bass line on "call the law" also.

I was feeling the Bad Note cut also. The guitars are wicked on that joint!

I bought it on tuesday and I think it's a good album.

My favorites...

Idlewild Blue (I'm nuts about it)
Morris Brown
The Train
Dyin To Live
A Bad Note (nod to Maggot Brain, I know. but it's still great)
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Just got it, currently digging Chronomentrophobia (really digging this like P-Funk with an '83-'84 Prince beat) Mighty O, Morris Brown, and Peaches. That intro is hilarious as well. I'm feeling it so far. I cannot believe I've been listening to Kast for 12 years...damn where does the time go?

thumbs up!

I heard the whole album and it's very strong. Can't think of any favorites, though, other than "Morris Brown", "The Train" and "Idlewild Blue". It's overall just a good album.

Yeah, it's like there isn't a particular stand-out song on the album. You have to listen to the whole thing to get a feel for how good it is.

What do you guys think of Mutron Angel being a single? I would love to see it released.

love it! picked it up the other day and listened to it during some breaks between classes as a bit of escape. hollywood divorce stands out as a favorite, as does call the law. i wasn't crazy about most of big boi's stuff on the previous release but i'm loving what he's doing here, maybe more than andre's material.

its too fresh for me to have any real POV about it yet but the first impression is a great one.

I feel that Dre is more imaginative but Big Boi's flow sounds better to me.
