I liked three of their songs. "Why U Treat Me So Bad", Situation #9" and their remake of "Lean On Me". They had a cat in the band named Jay King who talked more trash then anyone I know. He once said "Prince May Be Prince But I'm The King"(Where is Jay now?) But the best thing to come out of that group was producer duo Foster & McElroy who wrote hits for Michael Cooper and En Vogue. The lead singer for C.N was cute too.

Jay King was a HUGE egomaniac! His massive ego is exactly what prevented Club Nouveau from having long-term success. In 1987,Madonna asked Club Nouveau to be the opening act on her 'Who's That Girl' tour.Jay accepted the offer but a week before the tour was to begin,he pulled out, saying "We don't need Madonna and she doesn't need us" You don't turn down a gig like that!! She played stadiums on that tour, which would have exposed Club Nouveau to their biggest audience yet.Two of the members (Foster and McElroy) got sick of Jay and left the band, becoming successful producers in their own right.
