Well, there still may be a bit of hope this year...
It looks like I may be seeing Cyndi Lauper in October (i've only seen her once, opening for Cher, how gay) and The Decemberists are in town in November...

I just saw she's coming to the Ave now! the tough part is it's a weeknight (meaning LATE night show). And the crazy is charging $24. Which may be hard to cough up cos I've seen her twice at free shows in MPLS. But, if I find comps I'll be there in a second. yupyup if eagles of death metal are opening for her, GO. pay the money. DO IT. the lead singer is my future ex-husband.

But I love watching people play and perform live. Particularly women if you hadn't noticed. And this is the first year I've actually gone through the trouble of reviewing them all (on myspace). Because there are some shows from way back in the day of which I have no recollection. I'm not gonna let that happen anymore. I know what you mean. I've been keeping a blog of many of the shows I went to and have been taking pictures at each gig. However, Lady Sovereign was wack, so I'm trying to forget that! LOL.

You're in Australia now, yeah? Well, they had a HUGE Australian tour during June and July called INFINITI. It's over now, but they were all over Oz just for the past three months. They'll be back, though, since they are now a part of the MODULAR label (along with The Presets, Cut Copy, Van She, Wolfmother, etc.) There's a free "mixt tape" with an albums-length worth of remixes including a Bloc Party remix of "Needy Girl." Check it out at their myspace. Also, the guys personally respond back to your messages if you write them, 'cause I sent them a few and they wrote me back inviting me to their New York City show and answering my questions on mixes.

I've heard that Rasputina now has a male band member ~ I'd love to see them and Diamanda is at the top of mt list ~ hopefully next time she comes around. Did you have a favourite from this list? That was the 6th time I've seen Rasputina. They've had a male drummer for a few years now. I like his drum set--very exotic. It would be easy to automatically say Goldfrapp was my favorite show because I love them so much and always have a good time when I see them, but I'll try not to be so predictable. Visually I was blown away most by Madonna and Nine Inch Nails (especially NIN). Musically, maybe the Bellrays was the best. I saw some serious playin' at that show. tA, if you're reading, definitely check them out if you haven't already. They might be from around your parts.

What happened? it's been a kinda slow year for shows in Mpls. it's really weird, because there'll be at least an act or two to come through here that i'll wanna go see (but can't because the price of the tix are sky-high), but that hasn't been the case this year. i've been steadily checking first ave's concert list regularly and hoping somebody cool will come play there, but nope. at least i can look forward to new year's eve and (possibly) halloween there.

It seems, that whenever I meet up with people, they always end up buying me drinks and then I never pay them back. The last thing I want to do is contribute to you getting a reputation. I honestly don't remember who paid for what. If I did buy you drinks, you totally paid me back with your charming company. To bring this back on topic, this is the band we went to see back in June: These pics might be old. I think there are only three of them now. Man, that night was fuzzier than I thought!

Yeah, there were only 3 I think. I just remember going to the bathroom about 5 times. And you of course. Funny thing is, I saw a band/video that I liked the other day on MTV2 (the Brit version) and they were called The Gossip. Anyway, I checked out their website and tour schedule and it looks like they tour with Erase Errata all the time. I might to see them (The Gossip) in S.F. because they will be playing there when I'm in town in September. They are playing here at Irving Plaza on September 13th. I saw that Gossip video on MTV's 'Subterranean' show. It isn't bad at all. I think I saw The Gossip a very long time ago opening for another band (The Donnas?). If I had one of their albums, I'd definitely check that show out.
