What do you think of David Cassidy? U hate him? Peronsally i love some of his stuff.....
Ok, this is a fantastic album. Sure, its AOR rock (harder then Chicago, but that ain’t saying much), but the guitars are definitely there. U can tell David put his all into this album, and some songs are quite personal. (“Labor of love” is about his Dad who just passed away), whilst “boulevard of broken dreams” is a sad song about his falling form grace as a once famous pop star. This album, released on Enigma records in 1990, shoulda and woulda been a hit if the company hadn’t of folded soon after the albums release. The single “lyin’ to myself” would of been bigger too, and was headin’ up the charts, but as I said, the company folded, and both album and single stopped distribution. Such a shame. http://www.youtube.com/wa...%20cassidy Also, in the mid 80’s he had a hit in the UK with “the lass kiss”, of his 1985 album “romance” (produced by alan tarney) Obviouly he was going through his St paul Peterson stage (or vice versa?) image wise LOL. Anyway, nice album. His self titled is a lot more harder edged then this soft, synth swirling album, but for “last kiss” alone, its worth a hunt down. (u’ll notice George Michael singing the backing vox on the chorus of “Last kiss”) So what do u guys think of him? I think i love David cassidy But seriously, yet another man that gets 0 respect in the music business. Such a shame critics slept on his 1990 release. [Edited 7/26/06 15:06pm]

I think Cassidy is cool as hell, obviously, cuz I've name checked him on here several times. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him." http://ccoshea19.googlepa...ssanctuary http://ccoshea19.googlepages.com

I guess u would hate the song "lyin' to myself" (the youtube link i provided). I did purchase his "cherish" album and a best of partridge family album (if only for "I think i love you") This album is surprisenly solid. It has filler, and some of the songs are so overblown its horrible, but, theres some decent stuff on there. "iam a clown" doesn't sound half as bad as it should be. Infact, its a sweet little song and is even a bit mauldin considering..... "See the funny little clown See the puppet on a string Wind him up and he will sing Give him candy...he will dance But be certain not to feel If his funny face is real" Infact, his early stuff reminds me of the carpenters. Damn, maybe i would like them after all?

Anyone who digs Hendrix (he stated that he wanted to be Hendrix growing up - he even busts out a few wah-wah licks on the Partridge Family pilot) is cool with me. I actually had that "Old Dog, New Trick" (is that the name?) on cassette. It was aight, though nothing really stands out in retrospect.
I actually thought he was a pretty good comedic actor - he and "Train wreck" Bonaduce had a cool chemistry goin' on. Plus, David had cool hair and he supposedly nailed his tv sister, Susan Dey... My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth

I think you love him..... Aaaah,...I get it. Yeah, that's clever. Yeah, J.D. tapped on it on his post. He would break out doing his best version of Hendrix with a wahwah. He wasn't going to see that shit on the Brady Bunch. When I was very little, I LOVED The Partride Family. Had a SERIOUS crush on Shirley Jones. As I got older and learned more about the biz, I gained respect for David. He was pulling insane hours between taping the show and then recording all night and then doing two shows a day concerts on the weekends. He had his peak like everyone did. I woke up in Love this Morning I woke up in Love this Mornig.. I don't know the rest. Those were the days of the Family band, both fiction and Non-fiction..

Damn, that's surprising! I like him as an artist. Don't quite know how good he really is, but he's a hard-working mo' fo' and he was the best part of the Partridge Family... Hard to be a teen idol when in your heart, you're a rocker... Some people tell me I've got great legs...

TonyVanDam said: Yeah,. thats a cool track that just wont get played (where i live anyway) because of who it is. Well, i have 2 of his 70's albums, and i did notice the difference between his debut "cherish" and his followup "rock me baby". He was trying to add more guitars etc....on "rock me baby" it seems.
