Cameo is one of my all time favorite funk bands. "Freaky Dancing" is one of Cameo's jams, no doubt. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I was just listening to my Cameo Compilation CD coming in to work today...."Freaky Dancing", "Keep it Hot", "Shake Your Pants", "Alligator Woman" , "Flirt" , "I just want to be" , "Knights by nights", etc..... It is amazing how much better music sounds when it is played by real musicians and is original. Not like the computerized oversampled crap that is being mass produced today. The early Atlanta Artists years had quite some powerjams like Be Yourself , Enjoy Your Life , Aphrodisiac , This Life Is Not For Me , Style , Cameo's Dance , Slow Movin' ( misleading title but still a grinding hitter ) , Talking Out The Side Of Your Neck . 2 tracks which (imo) might be 2hard2handle for airplay : Alligator Woman and the sorta follow-up track : Let's Not Talk Slot , a message about the upcoming digital era . On the Word Up album i dig the fast jam You Can Have The World . And on their 1992-album they did a kinda newjack-inspired track called Front Street , but they added a blazing hornsection to it plus a nasty funkbass . . . . [Edited 9/9/06 10:35am] | |
