I thought this was supposed to be some hot dance track. It's so average. All Nite was so much better than this.

Actually, on reflection, All Nite was better than this.

I look forward to hearing this version without the lil elf known as Jermaine Dupri screaming his little ass off. I have to say it's waaaaay better than Call On Me but it's nothing different from what's already out there. Typical hip-hop shit. But I can see myself dancing to this so some optimism is growing. Like I said, I need to hear this without the yelling and hollering so I can really judge it but what I hear is alright.
[Edited 8/20/06 7:33am]

It is indeed much better than Call On Me, though that's not much of a feat. lol
But yes, I'm sure it will be better without JD yelling over the track every 2 seconds.

Much better. It's criminal that it never became a hit. Especially in comparison to what was playing on the radio at that time.

If you look earlier in this thread it was stated that Jermaine yelled all over it on purpose so the bootleggers won't circulate it or something like that.

It's okay, I like it, it's catchy but forgettable. I'm basing my review on those who heard it before and was like "OMG! OMG! I can't stand it, the song his HOt!!" and I can say it did not blow me away or anything. JD did ruin it ALOT!!! But I could see it sounding real good at the clubs. It's nothing really innovative and it sounds like what's out there now. My guess is that the video is going to help out alot cuz you know Janet does videos extremely well. (I'm not counting that Call on Me).
[Edited 8/19/06 21:35pm]

Damn..I really should have heard the song first before hearing all the reviews. JD ruined it...Sounds like that's what the whole album needs to be called. I told everyone he was going to ruin this CD and everybody said, no, he's just an executive producer. So excited...sounds like so dissapointed. And another guest rapper? Oh, fuck!

I brought her up becuz she is a sly fox who is tryna stomp out a legend and any other competition. She and her father purposely DIGTALLY pre-released "Deja Vu" to bring down Ex band mate La Toya's # 1 album.

She now is releasing her new album in Sept. to compete w/ JANET. She needs to humble herself in the presence of a LEGEND. JANET paved the way for her to even have a taste of the kinda STARDOM she has experienced .. with ONE SOLO ALBUM.. is it ?????

No one respects those who came b4 them anymore and that is the MAIN issue. JANET is a threat plain and simple. That is why so people feel a need to trash this HOT track.

1) This is LOW QUALITY, a radio rip.

2) The DJ rewinds the beginning twice and replays it.

3) JD was shouting on top of it "world premiere" and stuff so it can't be stolen/illegally downloaded.

Dude, look at yourself. You've lost your mind. First of all what you say is just speculation. and if Janet is Janet, there is no need to worry about what Beyonce does. You seem to be studying Beyonce's every move really hard so Beyonce seems to be more of a threat to you than anyone else.

Besides, there are a lot of albums dropping around the same time as Janet. Do you hate them too?

And listen. People have a right to their own opinion. The track is okay. If you feel it's hot, then I totally respect you're opinion, but to me it's nothing special. I already forgot about the beat as we speak because it's nothing innovative, but it will do well, only because she is Janet.

Get a grip dude.

2 B honest w/ u..I could care less about BEYONCE but people are putting these 2 artists on the same level.

Yes there are alot of albums dropping..but these are 2 MAIN female RnB artists going head to head in September.

I never said people dont have the rite to their own opinion. But so do I..!

What a... merely okay song. confused Sounds like anybody could have sung over that beat.

And frankly, whatever liking I had for "Call On Me" has been long gone as well. Perhaps this new album won't be such a great artistic comeback, after all, but we'll see.

by the way, why did jermaine even bother to play the song if he was so worried about bootlegging to the point where he ruined the track? just wait and debut the track when you're prepared to play it without interruption.

Truth.com right here.

How was Beyoncé releasing her album for pre-orders going to affect Letoya's album? Those sales are not effective until the album is released in September. Letoya's was already officially out in JULY & made #1 on the charts, you can't chart on the Hot 100 Billboard off pre-sales. lol How is Beyoncé releasing her cd next month have anything to do with competing with Janet? Beyoncé's is coming out weeks before Janet's. Janet fans are just threatened, Beyoncé nor her fans are in the least bit worried about her which is the funniest thing about it all. lol It's rather sad, actually.

I kept hearing that not only was this a hot dance track but the best song on the album. It being better than Call On Me doesn’t say much.

I’ve heard plenty of radio ripped tracks that were littered with noise and poor quality but I played them to death because I loved the song regardless. A clean version just enhances why I like or don’t like a song. Oh well...

Perhaps because, deep down in their hearts they know her music isn't what it used to be (read: crappier). Having "superproducer" Dupri produce makes it that much worse. Maybe that's why they're "threatened"? Janet's best work was done with Jam & Lewis. It was the perfect artist/producer combination. They really brought out the best of Janet. Dupri does nothing but make her sound like she's singing Mariah's outtakes..

What do you mean...His he only making his elf self known because it's the radio premiere, or it similar to "Call On Me", where you can't avoid his gleefilled grunts. BTW, still haven't heard it....You know what I mean.....Although I think I might wait for an offical release...Anybody know when that's supposed to be on radio offically? I don't know if the "pop" station will play (I've heard "Call On Me" a few times on one of the R&B stations...it gets play on several Sirius stations and I don't doubt that a few will embrace the new single, too).

Beyonce's new album is named after her birthday...It's a celebration of all things Beyonce (as it always is). I don't think she is competeing with Janet. Nobody really is....Justin's album is two weeks ahead of hers and frankly, I don't see it doing all that well. #1 for one week, like all the rest. Janet will debut at number but I can't help but be cynical since heardly anyone has lasted on the charts for more than a week.

It's very 'now' it sounds like a Ciara record, even down to the vocals. anyway janet's music has always reflected what was popular, so why should this time be different? its just that someone of you guys are not up to date or into what the kids of today like on urban radio.
