My Love For Traditional Chinese Music.

I do not know nothing about Chinese music. Especially not traditional music. But I am fool for any kind of melancholy music. So here goes.

One of my favourite movies EVER is Da hong deng long gao gao gua, in the western world better known as Raise The Red Lantern. The movie is a visual stunner.

It was the first movie I saw feautring Gong Li and the my first encounter with the Chinese language... I fell in love immediately.

Like I said, the movie's visuals are breath taking and the acting sublime. The movie is driven often by non-vocal acting and visuals, so the music is very important.

The music in this movie and nother one of my favourites Farewell To My Concubine (Ba wang bie ji) was composed by Zhao Jiping.
If you have seen any of these two movies, you know that the music in these two films are very important to the story...

I have been a fervent admirer of Zhao Jiping's music ever since, collecting hard to find soundtracks for Chinse movies he scored...

I know that not many will have seen the movies, let alone singled out the music, but please, if you have a love for oriental music; check this man's music out...

It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

I own an album by the Guo Brothers called "Yuan". It's really great music, sometimes it sounds like water.I feel like swallowed by a wave of happiness every time I listen to it.

If you mean Chinese movies like the ones I mentioned, then yes, I am. I mean, I got into this music THROUGH these movies.
