Looking for cool chick fronted bands

Gotta love listening to music where the person that's singing sounds like they need to be shagged.

To give you all an idea, it's this kind of noise I really like:

Any recommendations? I have no idea where to start.

You should check out Santi White. She wrote and produced Res' debut album. Her band Stiffed just split up - but they produced a rocking EP and album - www.myspace.com/stiffed - her new project is www.myspace.com/santogoldmusic. She's gonna be on Mark Ronson's new album as well.

goosebumps

No lead singers spring to mind. But Darcy Wretsky (Smashing Pumpkins) on bass and Charlotte Hatherley (Ash) on guitar come to the fore.

As for new up and coming bands on the rock end of the spectrum, I'm digging the Grates, http://www.myspace.com/thegrates, and Mates of State, http://www.matesofstate.com/.

Metric is very cool. Female fronted bands make up the majority of my music collection.

Try these:

Damone
The Donnas
The Epoxies
Giant Drag
Goldfrapp
Ladytron
Morningwood
Sahara Hotnights
Saint Etienne
Scarling
Sing-Sing
The Start
Tegan and Sara
Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Y'know, I haven't really had the chance to sample Jada's band yet. It's kinda hard to take her seriously being married to Will Smith and all.

My daughter is a metal head.
She was listening to something that sounded pretty cool and I asked her who it was.
She said, "Jada". I was quite stunned to say the least.
Don't remember the name of the tune.

I got that Stiffed bulletin on myspace also. That's too bad. I never got to see them live.
