Diana Ross

I know...I have very gay taste. Right now I'm kind of into Diana Ross. I bought her "The Ultimate Collection" recently and it's very lacking when it comes to some true solo hits and is too heavy on latter day AC attempts. I also bought a CD that combines "Diana" and "The Boss". I already had "Diana" (the deluxe edition) but am getting into a lot of the songs on it again along with some of the more upbeat songs on "The Boss" (the title track, "I Ain't Been Licked", "The Boss" and "Once In The Morning"). I'm kind of intersted in buying her 1983 album "Ross" for "Pieces of Ice". I know that it has some harsh reviews and bombed but I think it might be interesting.

i never thought that Diana's music was considered "gay"....the only song that people always said was referenced to the gay community was "i'm coming out" but even that song doesn't sound gay to me.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I guess if you put together my love for a lot of "diva" type artists along with some of the dance music I like, some would say that I have gay taste. I shouldn't have even said that. I really wanted this thread to be more about what people like of hers (other than the Sumpremes...that stuff is classic).

I think this is the album that also contains the songs "Let's Go Up" and "Up Front",two decent singles that I like.Haven't heard the rest of the album, though.

I don`t like "Pieces of ice", but there are some fun tracks on the album, like "You do it" and "Love or loneliness"
The album is like most of her 80s albums, not terrible, but not that great either...

I was gonna object too but I had to shut up when I realized that a friend of mine, who's incidentally gay, was the one that took me to my first Diana Ross concert. In fact, we saw a number of our gay friends at the concert, the only other people there were middle-aged white people. I dunno.

nod I liked both You Do It and Love or Loneliness is mellow type adult contemporary tracks, they're my favorites along with Let's Go Up.

I had most of Diana's 80's RCA releases on cassette back then, and decided in recent months to pick up the import cds of Ross, Silk Electric, Eaten Alive and Red Hot Rhythm and Blues.

I bought the imports too, well, exept for the red hot album, cause i already had that one, but without "Mr. Lee", i don`t know if it`s on the japanese import, or if it`s even a good song... lol
If i weren`t as big a fan, i`d probably be better of saving my money and stick with the compilation "The RCA years"... I was gonna recommend it to Vinny, but then i realized "Pieces of ice" weren`t on the cd...

Anyway, my favorite RCA album is Silk electric, now that`s worth getting!!

I was going to buy that compilation until I saw that. Apparently a lot is missing off that collection.

So if you are a guy and you like Diana Ross, it's consider gay confused That's new to me. I guess if you are guy and you like dressing up like Diana, well that's a different matter, but for just liking her music I wouldn't call that "gay".

My favourite Diana Ross track is "Touch Me in the Morning", does that sound gay..

I also love her version of Billie Holiday's "Goodmorning Heart ache".
