I miss Tupac....







Wonder what he'd have to say about the state of hip hop now?

i personally don't enjoy his music.
but i think the man was very honest about things,
certain things i disagree.
but the things he has said do something ring a sense of truth.
his poetry wasn't that bad either.
its simple,but sometimes good poetry is..its simple but it has alot of strength embedded in it.

Ya know... it's one of those things...

God took him at a that time for a reason... I don't know why, but the same questions could be asked of Jimi, Janis, John Lennon... the list goes on... WAY WAY WAY before their time...

What would they have to say about the "factory" of tunes forced on our youth by less than talented people today... not just Hip Hop... R & B, Rock, musicianship in general...

That's why I was so into Musicology and the Musicology Tour..

Today I listened to So Many Tears.

Before I clicked on this, I had an idea it was about 2Pac. They've been playing his documentary on a loop at Vh1 and I'm really liking it. He was very complex, very interesting. I'm really surprised I don't have any of his stuff. Oh man, do we need at artist like him around now. His catalog (what I've heard) is a great balance between party jams and truly inspirational, deep meaningful songs with a message. He could get personal, too. Attempting a song like "Dear Mama" would've sounded laughable and labored by a lot of other artists.

I miss Tupac also. He was truly a talented artist and entertainer. I was in nursing school when he was murdered and I remember crying along with a friend. Hip-Hop has definitely not been the same without him. RIP Tupac .

I missed tupac as well. I do think about him almost everyday, and wondered what would he be doing in 2006 haven't he got killed. Its going to be 10 years like within few weeks since he been gone. Tupac was mad talent especially as a lyricist, poet, and MC. He also did a kickass job playing on Juice and even Poetic Justice. He spoken about things that goes on in the community especially in the black community. Man that dude had accomplished many things with a short period of time. I never forget when me and my silbings got home from watching that Tyson fight at my grandmother's house. We were upset that the fight last like only few minutes but we were even upset when the DJ announced on the radio that Tupac been shot. Despite that, we thought Pac was going to survive from his wounds like he had when he got shot in '94. But seven days later we were wrong, when the DJ of my local RnB station, which isn't no longer around, announced Tupac's death at around 4 oclock on Sept 13th, we were devasted as hearing about losing another great legend before his time.
I bet Tupac is turning his grave right now with today's sorry ass hip hop.

His everyday struggle of being good (activist) and bad (Thuglife) consumed his every thought and move. He made a deal with the devil (Suge) and in the end he paid the price for that deal.

He had a chance to be one of the most influential people in Black History but that damn constant inner struggle between good and evil kept that from becoming fruition.

I personally believe he was about to leave Deathrow and the rap game altogether and solely focus on movies, while adding a song or two to whatever soundtrack of his movie. I don't think he truly liked the thuglife and was only fronting for Suge's sake.

His appeal was the roughness of his actions and his street attitude and the softness of his face. If you look at Pac, you will see a lot of feminine features on him (The big eyelashes, smooth complexion, big eyes, smooth lips, pretty smile), he was a rarity in that instance, and he had a ton of charisma to go along with it. Women love the shit out of that dynamic.

I think what we missed out on was a mega-star that would have been well outside the realm of hip-hop.

Has anybody heard the Dear Mama remake by Lyfe? It may or may not be good, but I just can't believe that someone would remake one of Tupac's songs. It's like you don't mess with Luther, Marvin and you definitely don't mess with Pac's songs.

I totally love me some 2Pac and miss him 2 missfee. I Have most of his CD's and movies. Unfortunately he got caught up in the system like so many of our black men. He was extremely talented as a rapper and actor. 2Pac seem 2 look 4 love in all the wrong places. He had much love and respect 4 Prince and the brother had a big heart. There's a lot of people who don't really know or care 2 known about him other than the Thug Life he was known 4. What a loss. Musically, he wasn't on Lennon's level and he was light years away from Jimi but he was an artist and really had a talent to express himself through his words. I would venture to say that his work was more powerful in and of itself than both Jimi's and John's. There was more feeling and immediacy in it.

Note that I said powerful, not better.

I am 38 and I know some 2Pac songs but not all. I will testify though as a sometimes DJ that Pac is as important to his generation as Prince is to me and as James Brown is to the cats who grew up in JB's time. ...Pac & Biggie are the most requested by far, and Pac particularly seems to connect deeply with those that feel him. ...My two cents.

Anywho, it's been ten years and folks still miss him and how he changed hip hop. Tupac is one of the 10 greatest hip hop artist of all time.

Some folks said that Suge knight might had connection with Tupac's death. Whether he has any involvement remains a question.

But at the same time I have a strong feeling that he knows more than what he is telling. And that 1996 he interview he did shortly after Tupac died said it all when a reporter asked him if you knew who killed 2pac would you tell?? and he was like, It isn't my job to solve murders.
