Idlewild cd - stop the hate OK, i can't comment on the movie but I got the cd today and I love it. If you are an Outkast fan, you will like it. Andre and Boi are top notch. I have no problems with the single cd, movie soundtrack and lots of great tracks. Buggface & Makes no sense at all are short and sweet, like others, But there are others that are longer and hot tracks. Idlewild Blue, N2U, In Your Dreams and Mutron Angel, you better back up! And it IS a period piece movie/soundtrack (hello Under the Cherry Moon)
review it after you hear it ---------------------------------

you can hear the whole thing on myspace
www.myspace.com/outkast My thing is this, it's not a bad album by far. They just lack the chemistry and the togetherness that they once had. This is like Speakerbox/The Love Below part two except this time on all one single disc. If you became a fan when the last album drop then that's probably no big deal for you. But if you have been listening since Southernplayalisticadilacmusic, or since Atliens like me, you may miss hearing Dre and Big on the same songs. It's like they are not even Outkast anymore. From what I hear they are hardly ever in the same studio or the same place together, and that would effect any group in the long run. I would rather they break up on a high note, than continue to loose their chemistry. After all they have already made their mark in the music world. Again some very good songs on the album, but it does not flow like an album, and it doesn't feel like an Outkast album and they don't come off like a group at all. The continuity doesn't really flow like a soundtrack album either, it's odd that most of the songs that seem to tie into the movie are Dre's, while big boi's songs seems totally separate from the albums/movies theme. I would give it a good three stars out of five. Good but not great for a group that has raised the bar as high as they have. | |
