It was done with much respect & love...I like Prince's version/s (record & live) best cause I'll throw on a old skool 1999 tour live video & just "feel" his version. Alot of emotion when he's singing it.

Props 2 Alicia 4 showing Love Prince's way first...She loves many greats, such as Donny/Marvin/Roberta etc... but on her first CD she picks 2 do a cover of a Prince song... That says alot if U ask me~

Well done to alicia for showing apreciation to Prince but her version? Not even half the emotion of Prince's with a shitty drum machine.

Alicia's cover is good, and I feel it will draw more people
2 Prince's like it did 4 me.That is if people bother 2
recognize who wrote the song.

I had never heard Prince's version until I bought the
The Hits/B-sides.I like how simple it is, a piano,a drum,
and Prince.Alicia chose 2 do it becuz it fit her style.

I think they should play Prince's original on the radio.

Yes,I Do. Alicia Keyes is a very good singer, songwriter and piano player. I really enjoy her music. She was great at the N.Y. Aftershow with Prince. Of course Prince's version is the Best though . Nobody Compares to Prince. He's the Best!

Props on that.Josh Redman did a Cover of it.He is a Brother who plays Sax that Records on Warner Brothers. I wasn't feeling Alicia Key's Version at all.Blial did a Better Version than Keys IMHO.if I'm Guessing Right Clive Davis More so than Alicia Keys picked out "How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore"? Clive is Known for Finding Songs on His Debut Artist's Albums&given them a Cover to Record.

I've said before that I wasn't too thrilled about her album, but it's actually laid back and an album you can just kick back and listen to. I guess it kind of grew on me. It's up there in my favorites list now, along with Sade's 'Lover's Rock'. smile
