Right now, I'm feelin' "State Of Shock" (from the Victory album)... I know it was cheese at it's worst, with Mick and all, but damn... it had a beat, and the vocals worked!

"I know you like to tease...but please baby PLEASE

You take it to me good...like you know you should

I love the way you talk...talk baby talk...

You look so great...everytime I see your face...

You put me in a state..OOO...OOO. OOO...OOO...State Of Shock"

I used to dig the beat as well to this song.

I was always hoping they'd do a video 4 "State of Shock", but Michael and Mick never really got along...

I did love the tune Mick did with Bowie, "Dancing In The Streets", back in '83, the song & video both done in less than 16 hours, all 4 charity.

It was a great job... that's what happens when 2 artists who truly like/love eachother collaborate.

Who does Michael need to duet with now?

My vote: Justin Timberlake! The video would b interesting.

funny I jsut saw that back too the 80's&they showed Tina Turner&Mick Jagger doing "state of Shock" on Stage.well Michael felt Mick was a Out of tune singing turkey&Mike was right.anyway a Few Folks I'd like too Hear Michael Sing with:1)Bobby Womack,2)Tony Bennett,3)Whitney Houston,4)George Michael,5)Steve Perry.

I think MJ was a little pissed at the situation with Freddie Mercury. He was the perfect choice for State of Shock and the demo with him shows it. I don't know what happened, but it was probably due to clashing schedules, but Mick just took his place at the last minute, didn't he? The guy is totally off key on the whole song.

About Whitney Houston: She was one of the first choices for I Just Can't Stop Loving You. Also, last year at Madison Square Garden they rehearsed a song together that didn't happen on the night. I think it was One Day In Your Life.

I heard not so long back that he has recorded a song with George Michael so maybe...just maybe. Michael has recorded songs with a lot of artists but then shelved them. Time will tell.

Personally I'd rather hear the song MJ has done with the Bee Gees. As much as i love George Michael he's pretty much a solo Bee Gee anyway. Almost everything he's done has been a re-write of either Jive Talkin' or How Deep Is Your Love.

Awww, I wouldn't downplay George Michael like that. The man is a fantastic songwriter, and the last British artist to truly break through to the States. It's a shame record company politics and out-dated prejudices have stalled his career in the US.

I have 2 agree.. Geo. Michael is an amazing songwriter, singer, performer...

his best work (imo) is "listen w/out prejudice". LOVED the EVERYThING about this one...

I don't see MJ with GM at this time...

at this point, let's visualize MJ with Quincy right now... huh??? 8)

Fave Song = "I Can't Help It"
Fave Vid = "Remember The Time" or "Scream"

The video is tricky as :I: think both were choreographed by Lavelle Smith and it don't get any better than Lavelle... just dig Janet's "Rhythm Nation"!!!

I found an MP3 of Bad (The vocal) over the instrumental of the Ghostbusters theme. It's great. Try and find it. It's worth it.

nod musicvideo made mj famous & they're responsible of his downfall too, I think that he shouldn't have made a video for "thriller", that was the beginning of the end

you seem too forget MJ was a SuperStar before Video was the "IN" thing? you forget that "Off The Wall" was Huge without Video being Important? you forget "Thriller" had already started too Blow Up Before MTV even got into the Groove of it?? don't Post nothing on MJ unless you got your facts straight.

True. the Thriller video was released in DECEMBER 1983. By that time the album had already been #1 for most of the year. 83 was HIS year. The Thriller video just extended the legacy and success a tiny bit further into 1984. Before Thriller, Off The Wall was the biggest album by any black artist. People often forget that and think that Thriller made him.

However, I think the success of Thriller has worked against him in a way. Before that, there was a Jacksons/Jackson 5/MJ album every year, sometimes two, all the way from 1969 until 1982. After Thriller the huge album breaks started happening.

"you seem too forget MJ was a SuperStar before Video was the "IN" thing? " you seem to forget that the World is not the USA, in Europe "Off the Wall" was lost in the disco of that time
"you forget "Thriller" had already started too Blow Up Before MTV even got into the Groove of it?? " yeah "started to blow up" but the worlwide explosion came with the Video ,
in the late 83 Thriller was already a fabulous success, MJ was everywhere the Thriller video "artificially" imo kept the album in the charts & MJ started to look like more that a media freak who would do anything to sell records than a artist at this time too.

I dont think any one would deny that on his day michael is an imensley talented performer. Throughout the Jacksons and in the early years of his solo career he was an inspiration, writing and releasing great songs with good videos and he was a good dancer.

Now however he's supremely f***d up. His music has been crappy for over a decade now, and when comparing like with like, Prince is far superior in all areas...song writing, performing, as a musician, as a lyricist, his style.

Hell it takes Jackson over 5 years to write a new album. Hes not exactly been the most prolific artist.

Anyway my favourite Wacko songs - Can U feel it / Dont Stop till you get enough / Wanna Be Startin Something.

Video - Dont really like his videos actually, even Thriller.

i agree..

Now however he's supremely f***d up.

i agree..

i disagree.. i hope you're not including 'dangerous' in the crap pile; this is a great album! it's nothing like its predecessors, but that doesn't mean it's crap. 'history' has some fine moments too; you cannot tell me you didn't like 'they don't care about us', 'stranger in moscow', 'earth song' and/or 'money'. about the 'blood on the dance floor' album i must say only the new cuts were interesting; it's a weak album that shouldn't have been released like that. and 'invincible', well.. it has its moments, but to me it's not an album i put on regularly and listen to in its entirety (meaning; only a handful of songs really). it's also the first album from mike i did not buy; i copied it from a friend.

..and when comparing like with like, Prince is far superior in all areas...song writing, performing, as a musician, as a lyricist, his style.

if you're talking about the present.. yes i agree. but if you're talking about the old days than to me the decision would be a tough one to make; performance-wise i've loved mike more than prince. still do, when looking back on the 80's and earlier. as a musician; okay, prince can play his guitars and pianos and what not, but that doesn't mean mike is not as creatively involved in the making of songs he's written as prince.

Hell it takes Jackson over 5 years to write a new album. Hes not exactly been the most prolific artist.

i agree.. but does that say anything about the man and the music? he does tour for almost 2 years after an album release. and with other promotion activities and the recording of a new album, i think for a man like mike it's not uncommon that it takes five years for a new record to be released.. a little faster would've been appreciated though.

"Thriller" was a Blessing&a Curse.being a Black Artist with that kind of Impact&knwoing how this World trips&whatnot&dealing within that Business nothing would be normal ever again.but I also understand the Guy Worked non-stop for Years&remember something:Quanity doesn't equal Quality.I think 5 Years is a Bit too long but I it's not the Longest not by a Long shot by anyone I dig.I think putting out too much can back fire on you just as easily.I think every 2-3 Years would be cool.but with 'Thriller" i can understand Him taking a good amount of time off.that Level of Success&the Hype&Backlash will make you take a step back&Breath.
