After listening to the Steve Bray demo and the First Album demo and the Killer B's version on repeat for 6 hours, I've come to that conclusion. Brilliant. And she didn't even take credit for the lyrics. How humble of her.

Anyway, yeah the version from 1981 is nice. I bought Pre-Madonna for my younger sister so I've heard it.

My favorite is the 1st album demo, which JUST surfaced this year in its entirety. The Pre-Madonna version is great, too, though I prefer the 1996 remix Steve did for the Pre-Madonna album.

Oh, I see what you're saying about all the different versions... I haven't heard this First Album demo...

How does it compared to the official version (b-side to "Papa Don't Preach")?

I could easily imagine that song as part of the debut's sequence:

Out of all the early Madonna songs and demos,the best one is "Don't You Know".I can't believe that this song didn't appear on her first album!
