Good shout 100MPH. Real To Reel 'Love Me Like This' is one of the best 80's tracks ever. I've never heard the Jam & Lewis produced track, did it come out on 12"?

Any idea how I could get a hold of the Real To Reel album?

Thanx funkymf

Can You Treat Me Like She Does is released on a sampler-cd , available at Amazon .
A sound-sample is also on the page below :

http://www.amazon.com/gp/...F8&s=music

The original Arista-copy with promo-sticker is 4 sale @ Ebay right now .

http://cgi.ebay.com/REAL-...dZViewItem

Real To Real's album has unfortunately stayed in the shelves .
You can read some about it in the article below :

I have in my pc-shelves another interview with Leon where he explains why the album didn't see the daylight .

Another group i think deserves a mark on the funkmap :

Thanks alot 100MPH, magic stuff. Have purchased that CD straight off the bat.

Yeah Kleeer were a top band. I played 'Tonight' (The Sa-Ra- Remix) & T'onights The Night' in a 3hr 80's/disco set that I played on Saturday night. The biggest tune of the night though was 'You Are My Melody' by Change. Sounded soooo good - a genius Jam & Lewis track again - Everything they touched between '82 & '86 is up there with any of the best music of the 80's. My favourite of theirs is 'Wild Girls' by Klymaxx.

Would love to see a Jam & Lewis 'Early Years' anthology hit the streets at some point. How good would that be cool
The Funk, the whole funk & nothin' but the funk, ya dig?!

Glad i could help bro ... have fun with that cd music

Whoa! ... a Sa-Ra-Remix ?! ... that's a new one for me ... is that available on a cd or vinyl ? interesting ... who mixed that ?

Change has so many slammin tracks ... the album i play most is " This Is Your Time " from 1983 ... those synths there are gritty nastay .
And " It Burns Me Up " from the 1984-project is a great floor-bumper too .

Yeah , a J&L best-of should really be done in the future .
At least Tabu did some quality remastered cd's from Alex O'Neal , Cherelle and the SOS Band .

It's from the recent 'Atlantiquity' compilation here - A good bargain price. Some other nice remixes on here, especially the Curtis Mayfield 'Do Do Wap Is Strong'. SA-RA are the name of a production outfit who have produced some great 80's synth inspired tracks over the past couple of years.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/...65?ie=UTF8

The Kleeer remixed track was put onto a bootleg 12" that I picked up in the UK. It has a re-edit of Chaka Khan & MeShell 'Never Miss The Water' on the flip. Great 12" - this site has the vinyl - do a search on SA-RA

Yeah that was a great re-issue program. We need more though bro !!

Never heard any Ebonee Webb stuff. Will hunt down & check them out. The album Im looking for is an album by Mantra, produced by Larry Blackmon. Cameo are my favourite funk band of all time. Ive managed to get all of their albums on CD now except for 'Style'. I had great fun recently compiling a Cameo 4 CD Funk Box Set for a friend - no ballads!!. Such an amazing & consistent band - each album had AT LEAST 4 monsters on it ! biggrin

I recently discovered Betty Davis. Her Nasty Gal album from the early 70's is funky as hell. Don't know anything about her except that she was married to Miles.
Also, The Baby Huey Story by Baby Huey & The Babysitters. Check out his spaced-out version of A Change Is Gonna Come.

Most folks know this group for the funk classic 'Ridin' High', but other cuts on this album deserve mention like 'Toe Jam', 'Funky Reputation' and 'True Love'. This album is one of the few reasons I still have my turntable.

Hell yeah! "Too Hot To Cool" was another J-A-M! Pure Prince-style.

Another great pick. Ironically, Bobby was discovered by Rick James but he had that funky Prince sound down pack with jams like "Got To Get Up On It", "Sexy Sassy" and "Private Party". Another one of his jams was "Hangin' Out At The Mall".

That record's been mentioned quite a few times. Hell, it's the home of Holy Ghost. Mean Mistreater is another standout cut.

The albums in this thread generally reappear cyclically when folks want to get to (or near) the bottom of things.
