Those "Thirty Three and a Third" books... I don't know if this is the right forum to ask, but whatever. Does anyone know those "Thirty Three and a Third" books about famous albums? Are they worth reading?

i have the 'sign o the times' one, and it was a pretty fun read. no earth shattering revelations, but if you enjoy the album, you'll enjoy the book.

I've only read the one on Sly & The Family Stone's There's A Riot Going On and it was pretty fun and interesting, although it took the author a little long to give an insight on the making of the album. Check me out and add me on:

Those two are the ones I'd be most interest in, besides Bowie's Low, Hendrix' Electric Ladyland and maybe London Calling. Maybe I can find them in a store somewhere and have a look at them.

I just picked up the 'The Kinks are the Village Green Preservation Society' edition today, an act that was more than slightly compelled by the existence of this thread. I'm going to spend the rest of the afternoon loafing on the couch with it.
I'll get around to buying the Forever Changes and Neutral Milk Hotel books as well one of these days.
