So i was at Virgin records on Thursday night, waiting to see Jody Watley perform, answer questions and sign her new cd. I met a guy there and we started discussing Janet's new cd. I hated the first single and was bummed. He said list to this. He let me listen to three tracks on his ipod and they were all hot hot hot! Made me feel so much better about Janet and the whole release. She still has it just missed the mark on the first single.

Pops Up was bangin!! Why this wasn't the first single is beyond me. All three tracks that I heard were great. I have hope again.

Pops Up is a Damita Jo outtake....

"Pops Up" has been around for at least a year, most likely two. It's a Rich Harrison outtake from Damita Jo that sounds a heckof a lot like something Beyonce would've released in 2003. I'm glad it didn't make the final cut for Damita Jo, and (even though I think it's better than 'Call on Me'), I hope it doesn't surface on her new album.
