continuous trends....(in general)

with the live-in realtiy show of the hit the Osborunes, many shows have begun to take off based on the life of the celebrity. like with the sensation Survivor, many were ready to duplicate another reality-show. or even with the likes of britney spears. as soon as she became a hit, tons of other white, blonde girls were brought onto the scene to make tons of money by selling sex.

in the 1980s, were there any other artist that were brought in after the success of mj and maddy?
i know many artists such as paula abdul, britney, tiffany, etc. were called the new queens of pop. but their success never lasted or they never sold as much as maddy.
but what about mj? did someone else display the credibility of having great videos, dances, helping ppl.,songs, etc?

i heard that since mj, maddy, and janet danced in the videos, etc., many videos by artists didn't display dancing!

how come these trends are taking off so quickly?
why is the oringinal forgotten or the most successful?

what can be done to stop these or at least limit the trends?
