Nice thread. There are many, many acoustic songs that I dig. I mean, were talking about Mr. Havens, Mr. Dylan, Cat Stevens, Joni, James Taylor, Bread. The list goes on and on. Led Zeppelin has some fantastic songs that feature acoustic.

There is some electric guitar in it, so it took me a while to realize that most is acoustic.

Really is an amazing record, something i'd never even heard of until a year or two ago.

Yeah. The songs would have been great had they been acoustic only, but the electric, strings, and horns are all sonic bonuses.

I've recently been grabbing up tons of ancient, cruddy sounding acoustic blues ("cruddy" meaning the inferior technology of the era makes it sound "bad" by today's standards). Maybe this kind of stuff only appeals to music historian types like myself or hardcore blues fans but here's some of the guys I've been getting into and some songs of theirs.

Blind Lemon Jefferson-Matchbox Blues
Mississippi John Hurt-Avalon Blues
Charley Patton-Pony Blues
Son House-Preachin The Blues
Leadbelly-I'm on my last go round
Robert Johnson-If I had possession over judgement day
Big Bill Broonzy-Mistreatin Blues
Blind Willie Johnson-Dark was the night, cold was the ground

The only album I own that's completely acoustic.

Ween - 12 Golden Country Greats
Favorites include, "I'm Holding You", "Powder Blue", and "You Were The Fool".

What about Willie Nelson's "Country Man" album? There's some great tracks through out the entirety of the album.
