MJ to work with Irv Gotti's Murder Inc!

The link to MTV.COM is below. Here's the best part:

Two hours later, after having what he classified one of the best meetings of his career, Gotti was so inspired that he might have been able to convince M.J. to begin working that night — but there was a small problem. For all the excess in his crib, Mike didn't own the one thing that even B-level stars have.

"He has no studio in his house," Gotti said, almost still in denial. "Can you believe it? We played music for him on a little tiny radio. I'm like, 'Mike, what's up, man? You got all the safaris and stuff. Where's the studio?'

MJ is one of the richest "musicians" in the world. He's been in the business since he was the age of 5 and he doesn't want to spend money on a home studio? That's the main difference betwen MJ and Prince. Prince is a musician and MJ is a businessman and sometimes a performer.

I was suprised also. I thought Michael Jackson could have *been* started his own label or his own studio, with all the money he has made through the years. Looks like his money was spent the very wrong way.

So maybe a duet with J.lo or Ashanti could do it...

I ain't surprised at all.. the guy has NOTHING to do with music.. he is and acts like a corperation, just like Mc Donalds, Nike or whatever.

He has no clue about music.. plus why would he have a studio?? he doesn't create any beats .. *remember* he pays $30 million for others to tell him whats hot..

also you don't need a studio to "create" those amazing "human beat box" noises he makes rolleyes

Stop believing anything you read...don't be that stupid!
Of course Mj has a home studio, every fan knows that, he works at home, he does his demos here...When he was living in Encino with his parents, he also had a home studio he used, as his brothers.
Please stop surfing the net trying to find some garbage to discredit Mj one more time. Have you so much time to loose?

Irv Gotti sucks. MJ stay away from this bullshit...

u are correct about the studios part!

i think irv gotti would bring mj back to the styles of singing smoothly and having nice beats. mj sings too fast and sooo angry that it makes the song seems depressing to hear it.

Regardless if he has a studio or not , it seems like MJ is behaving manically over the failure of his Invincible. One day he is on television with Al Sharpton complaining about a studio chief and the industry and now in what seems an act of desperation, going to find flash in the pan labels and producers for his next move. I thought he already had "boatloads" of songs completed that werent used for Invincible?

he does. i am confused on the matter too.
he had coruage to attack the record industry. but the record company has ties with magazines, radio, etc. now who will play mj's work or even give mj a chance?!

mj has produced, composed and written such amazing work in the past. but for some reason, he needs other ppl. to help him now. he can create stuff like smooth criminal and liberian girl, then why does he need new ppl.?

I was reading MTV.com and foud it funny. And no I don't think he has his own studio. I read somehwere that the reason he spends so much making records is that he books the best LA stduios for months at a time at $2500 a day so he can go in any time he wants day or night. Of course he needs producers and engineers, but what a stupid way to make a record.

Courage?

Yes, he is digging himself into a hole. Some may not want to deal with someone who will publicly try to defame a company or person if their product does not sell well.

Butterflies, Whatever Happens is in the same category as Liberian Girl. 2000 Watts was something different from him vocally and "maybe" musically. What he needs in my opinion is real musicians playing instruments and not all of the producers synth board wizardry providing the backdrop. Ironically, the new millenium calls for an organic sound.

Mike has a Studio at the Family home.I think Him not having one at the Crib is actually a good thing because He doesn't Bring His Work Home.MJ is a Artist for Me in the Love Or Hate Mode in every sense of the Word.I Can't stand the thought of MJ working with Irv(Wanna-Be Suge)Gotti.hearing Ja Rule going "Murder INC... "King Of Pop" Holla!!!I give MJ Props for working with some of the Current Acts here&there but I'd still dig if MJ,was working with Rick James,Quincy Jones,Maurice White,Prince&Stevie WOnder on a Project.also drop a James Brown Medley with 5 Songs in 5 Minutes of JB would Rock.MJ&Sly Stone would Be cool for me as well.MJ working on a Jam with Mint Condition would be cool as well.also Fishbone working with Him would be cool.and AL Green&MJ on a track.Needless to say I can think of 999,999 before I even let Irv Gotti into the Building IMHO.alot of Acts have Home Studios but Many always end up going to a Another Studio to Record.remember Prince Loved Sunset Studio.as the case with D'angelo Recording out of Electric Lady Jimi Hendrix's Studio out of NY.MJ does have a Vault at His House though.Slash was mentioning that when He was asked about the Riffs He played on "Black Or White".He said MJ just dig it out of the Vault He has.

Previous reports said he did have a smaller studio at Neverland, i don't know what's true. Anyweez, it's crazy the amount of studios the guy uses 2 record an album, or even a song, if i rmmbr well there was this song on his BOTDF album that was recorded in 3 or 4 studios, including in LA, NY and, of all places, Switzerland???

Anyweez, i hope 4 his next album he produces most of the songs himself or sticks with one established co-producer, not a newbie.

Personally, and i no Madonna kinda beat him 2 it, i'd love 2 c him work with Thomas Bangalter (one of the Daft Punk guys) and kinda stick with the darker tones some of his latest songs have, but drop the angry attitude. And no more wrong ballads, he has some great slow songs, but lately he has some very wrong slow songs also.

I heard that Michael is anxious to get a new album finished and ready to go.He's not gonna wait 5 years between albums anymore. The rumor is that this new CD will be released in early 2003,with the first single due just right before Christmas. It will most likely be released on either Universal Records or Dreamworks Records(expect an announcement real soon).

While I like Irv Gotti,I don't really like the idea of MJ working with him.I can just imagine what the songs will sound like...heavily-sampled R&B/hip-hop songs with Ja Rule all over the tracks...lol...

A new album by the beginning of next year? ROTFL! I'd sure like that, but i wouldn't get my hopes up, i'd say by the end of 2004, that is if he signs a new contract somewhere this year. Dunno y, but Dreamworks gets my vote also.

Yeah,I wouldn't get too excited about these rumors.Mike has this annoying habit of working with numerous producers and going through dozens of songs before finally deciding on a final tracklist. For 'Invincible, there were songs recorded with producers Missy Elliot,David Foster, and Wyclef that didn't make the album.Irv Gotti shouldn't get too excited, his productions for MJ might get canned too!

Yep MJ is Famous for changing His Mind on Songs. He got Dude from the Neptunes all Hyped about the Song He did for MJ&MJ said it doesn't work for Him.same with Lenny Kravitz.MJ is Picky about songs.but for some strange Reason I don't think MJ is gonna wait long this time.

I don't think people should expect something fresh & new from MJ.
The guy is stuck into the 80's, his songwriting & singing technique didn't improve since then, and it's always the same poppish tunes, same dance steps & bad tasted clothing...he will always call the "producer of the week" for his productions, and the problem is that those guys can't stand the comparison with Quincy Jones.
MJ should make an full LP with Prince, Stevie Wonder or George Clinton but he won't.
At least Prince is continuously trying to play on new grounds - not always successfully - but he manages to maintain a certain interest I think.
He's still connected with this thing called MUSIC.
MJ is more connected with MARKETING (the Billboard must be his bible).
That makes a big difference & that's why I always prefered the Little Man.

I heard Sony is releasing MJ's last album with that label soon. It's yet another greatest hits, but with 4 new songs.

I just heard that Toni Braxton is PISSED at Irv Gotti. He produced a few tracks for her upcoming CD,including the first single "No More Love".But,he went on a NY radio station and had the DJ play the song.Only problem is,the album isn't completed yet and neither Arista nor Toni gave him the permission to have the song played this soon.
