I totally forgot about this thread but:
Glen Jones, Vesta and Peabo's voices were crystal clear. Glen was the first one up and he only did three songs. BUT....he did do my favorite Glen Jones cut: I've Been Searchin' (Nobody Like You). Vesta was next. That woman is drop dead gorgeous. She was in a very good mood. She did impressions. Including Patti and Tina Turner. It was actually pretty good. She only did three songs too. BUT...she did a killer version of Use Me by Bill Withers and of course she did Congratulations. Whooooohoooo!!! She sung the hell outta that song. Last but definately not least was Peabo who got more stage time than everybody else. He did Can You Stop The Rain and a few other songs but he moved me to tears when he did accapella Let The Feeling Flow, my absolute favorite Pebo Bryson song. It was perfect. Lawd a mercy. It was a good night: The place was open seating so I was front row center listening to some of my favorite musicians and sitting in the audience a few rows back was the one and only Norman Connors. I oughta just do a concert series. Saturday I'm going to see B.B. King and the next Saturday, Mint Condition. | |
