Some interesting facts U may have known or not known about a-ha!

Easily one of the most influential bands of the last 20 years though no one really knows that they still make music, at least here in america they dont. Here are some FACTS about a-ha U may not know.....

*a-ha released their ninth album Analogue in November 2005 and had their first Top 10 hit in the UK since 1988.

*though a-ha is considered a one-hit wonder they have sold over 35 million albums worldwide

*a-ha is featured in the Guiness book of world records twice, once for Longest Note Held on a Recording song, 2000's Summer Moved On (21 Seconds) And second for largest crowd for a "paying concert" with one act, their 1991 show in Rio in front of 191,000 people.

*a-ha was "ripped off" by David Lynch. A-ha submitted a song "Sycamore Leaves" to Twin Peaks and Lynch ignored it and then suddenly there was a song on the finale of Twin Peaks called "Sycamore Trees", a-ha never got paid.

*a-ha released Take on Me three times before it would become a hit, the first two times the track was called "Lesson One"

*though "take on Me" was a number one in the USA, its not their biggest worldwide hit, that would be there second single "The Sun always shines on TV" which was number one everywhere but the USA

*A-ha was nominated for a Best New Artist Grammy and did Perform on the show, they also won 8 MTV video awards for Take On Me, six months after that a-ha couldnt get their videos shown at all

*a-ha has not used a keyboard or any Non Live instrument on record since 1988

*a-ha's 1986 song "Manhattan Skyline" was Blacklisted after the September 11th attacks. Meaning the song was not to be played on radio, nor referenced or sold in stores.

*a-ha's concert in New York last september was their first in the USA since 1986, the show sold out in 9 minutes.

*a-ha's latest cd "analogue" was the first that they recorded 100% together in the same studio ever.

*a-ha has been banned twice for their "unique" videos, in 2000 for their song "VELVET" and recently they were banned in Norway their hometown, for their single "Celice"

*despite being signed to UNIVERSAL throughout Europe and selling 1.5 million of their latest CD, Universal will not pick them up for distribution in the USA citing "lack of interest" and "age"

*a-ha is touring currently in Europe playing England,Norway and Russia and then recording their 10th Album set for a late spring 2007 release.

Last fact.....a-ha are the best band of the last 20 years, and still have more to go.
