I usually see Phil Oakey wandering around town. I asked him once if he knew what song the DJ was spinning when I saw him in a night club. Dissapointingly he knew what it was. smile

Fascination takes me back to high school. When the conversation turned, that's
when the sun went down. My favorite by human league is human. It was just tight.
The video is my favorite to watch of all time. The water backdrop to go with the
lyrics is just awesome. Thanks funkpill. I bought that crash album. It was
pretty funky. Money,Swang,Human,I need your lovin, love is all that matters.
Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Well they are from Sheffield, my home town, after all. It's quite common to see a member from a Sheffield band out and about the city. I was drinking in the same pub as the Arctic Monkeys a few weeks ago.

For my money, that song is easily one of the 10 best pop tunes of the 80's.

IMO, Hysteria was The Human League's weakest career album. Making music without synths was their biggest mistake production-wise!! This band were never great with the guitar sound.

Phil Oakey was never reported to be gay. He even dated one of the girls in the band during the 80's. Phil is still single, so who knows?!?

Only "The Lebanon" was guitar-based. The remainder of the album is all synth-driven.

I stand corrected! I should have said they toned-down on the synth, not remove them. Sorry for the bad info.

Life On Your Own is a perfect example of a weak song (by synthpop standards). Too much electric piano and not enough synths!
The songs from Dare! and Crash are way better.
