Obie Trice and some humourous quotes

I was just reading a short review by Jim Farber of the new Obie Trice CD, and not that i care about his music or a Jim Farber review, some of the things said were pretty funny and of course hypocritical. First great thing, is that inside the cd booklet apparently is picture of an X-ray of the Bullet lodged in Obie Trice's head, wow remember the day when u got the lyrics in the booklet? Second great quote was he talk of the shooting, he said "I didnt have any beef with anyone, but everyone i was with did", so u are surprised u got shot? when everyone around you is either "carrying" or starting some crap with other people "carrying". And the last great quote was when Obie Trice said, yeah the police were no help in protecting me from this shooting. Ok let me get this straight, you make songs and videos that paint a "stereotypicl" picture of the police and their harrassment of you and now you are wondering where are they?

Also in the review it was stated that now Obie has a new found perspective on life and things like that, all of a sudden he is concerned about things he never was before. Now you see this is what kills me about the Media and Mtv and things like that, dedicated all this time and press to more "negative" images. How about doing a story or an Mtv feature on a Rapper that doesnt surround himself with shootings and Violence and isnt talkinga about jail time like its a badge of honor.

I cant co-sign with you on this one brotha. I agree with what you said about the glorification of violence and jail and what not im not a fan of that either.

I am a fan of Obie though, im from Michigan so im a lil bias.
Bottom line is though if you in Detroit, and you not carrying then somebody you with has to have some heat on them. Also Detroit rappers are getting killed out here, if the streets think you got some money you in danger at all times.

i also wanna add its not so much a racial thing, its just guns our so much apart of Michigan/american culture.

No i totally understand that being here in NYC, there are issues similar but not as bad in certain areas. But what i dont understand is when you got the money, just get the hell out, i know some people wanna stay in the neighborhood and "be down" but even 50 cent moved upstate and hid his ass.
