The top 15 stars crowned Rock Royalty by MTV viewers

From bbc.co.uk

Bono crowned 'most influential'
U2frontman Bono has topped a survey of the most influential pop stars of the last 25 years, commissioned to mark music channel MTV's quarter-centenary. Michael Jackson and MADONNA come second and third in the poll, celebrated in an artwork that places the top 15 stars on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

More than 4,000 people took part in the Rock Royalty survey. MTV celebrates its 25th anniversary on 1 August with a day of special events and commemorative programming.

other celebrities featured in the MTV artwork are : PRINCE, KYLIE MINOGUE, Britney Spears, Snoop Dogg, Elton John, Beyonce Knowles, Robbie Williams, Pete Doherty, Christina Aguilera, Kurt Cobain, Eminem, J. Timberlake.

Gwen Stefani, Adam Ant, Pink and the Spice Girls made the top 25 but are not featured in the humorous collage.

Launched on 1 August 1981, MTV currently broadcasts to 1.3 billion people in 179 countries via 78 different channels.

That list is wrong, they got half of it right and then the other half is full of new artists (looks like people just voted for their fav current pop star)

I agree with these artists being on the list:

Michael Jackson(should have been number 1)
Madonna(should have been number 2)
Prince(should have been number 3)

Bono should be on the list, but not at number 1. Btw, I can't stand Bono. Sorry, I just had to get that out. He actually makes me sick to my stomach.

The survey was conducted in 2006, not 2001. Rihanna or somebody of her ilk will replace Bey on this list in 2011.
