New Music Suxx I bought the new Pharrell CD and that shit is the wackness. I was so disspointed. How can this man make so many hot beats for other artists and not do the same for himself? Also, I saw the new Janet Video (well part of it anyway). Damn, I was dissapointed. What a poor choice for your first impression. Lord help us. Will good music make a return soon??

Pharrell's cd is a little underwhelming but I am accepting it for what its worth. This is what he wanted us to hear from him and alot of it soundz great to me after a few listens. I love Baby and Our Father. I'm thinking he and Chad should have done another Neptunes Presents... cd first though. I cant wait for N.E.R.D. to come back next year as well as the music from the Voltron film.

pop charts is garbage Exactly , with a few exceptions , that's not the kind of area to focus one's hopes on . Lots is happening in the underground . In this era of digital information it's easy to find some amazing artists , but one has to be WILLING to search for it . www.cdbaby.com is a great source . One of the few sites which plays samples for 2 complete minutes . Then there's www.myspace.com , but this is a much more maze-like place to spot some great talent . Fresh new & complete tracks can be found on some of their spaces . I'm hearing TONS of great new tracks on stations like www.starpointradio.com & www.solarradio.com . A small selection of Dj's which play innovative new sounds are Geoff Bingham( Starpoint ) / Roger "Soulsorts" Williams ( Starpoint ) / Steve Hobbs ( Solar ) / Dez Parkes ( Solar ) and i'm even forgetting many others . The UK has currently a rich music-movement and good ears for underground quality soul . Artists get much recognition over there and perform in pack-jammed venues in and around London . UK-Labels like Cafe De Soul , Dome , Expansion , FER , etc have many class-acts . I refuse to accept that quality is missing within current music . Clear Channel is a copy-cat-joke on many points . . . . [Edited 8/2/06 0:50am]

That's exactly what I thought the first time I listened to it. [Edited 8/2/06 5:10am]

Pharrell's album doesn't suck at all. At first I just thought it was okay, but now it's grown on me, and i'm starting to love the cd.
Van Hunt's cd is pretty good, but it's not the best i've heard this year though... I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Trust me I understand I am in the same boat. My band will have 400 people come to see us perform but labels say there is no market for us. Go figure

See, this is part of my "dumbing down of society" theory. I completely agree with you, music today sucks big time!!! (This makes all the crap we listened to in the 80's sound good, now huh?)
I guess we just have to lower our expectations and appreciate what we had. Oh, and don't forget, Justin is bringing sexy back... not!

Didn't you just start a thread about SexyBack?
EDIT: Oh and yes, new music sucks. Started sucking in the 90s or so. There are some exceptions of course, but anyway. [Edited 8/2/06 8:13am] It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

... And what is? i haven't found the best r&b soul cd yet for this year, but i know that he has some good songs on his cd, but i still skip through most of it, therefore, for me, his cd is not the best i've heard this year. Thanks. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
