Well, she could have been a legend.

She's another one....like MJ that ruined their own legacy.

nod you beat me too it. She could've been a legend if she had stayed on track and not on crack...lol I didn't do that on purpose I promise.

MJ reached somewhat of a legend status, more than Whitney for sure, but his crazy ass fell off too.

Damn shame disbelief

i didn't say he was the dominant one. i just think he doesn't help. and capitalizing on her name for his show, by allowing them to film her, speaks for itself.

of course I would?..confused..what does that mean? I love how ppl are passive aggressive. Say what you mean... shake I guess you can't disgree with folks. shrug

It doesn't speak for itself. It seems some were fooled by Whitney's good girl persona when many knew was "Hood". She used drugs, partied and did her thing BEFORE Bobby brown. Two addictive personalities shouldn't be together. Even in Whitney's addictive state, she does control the choices she makes. She wanted to be on that dumb ass show.

Bobby is an alcoholic. He DOES need help. That should be clear. And Whitney could have said NO, that she didn't want to be on the show. Whitney isn't a victim of Bobby Brown's narcastic ways, She supports them. That's her problem and that's why they are co-dependent. This isn't a situation where bobby has lured Whitney into anything. She embraces the chaos. They both are addicts and they both need help, individually. Whitney doesn't get a pass. She is responsible for her addiction and her own state of being. This isn't Bobby's fault. They are bad for EACH OTHER.

so there you go...I disagreed again....of course. lol

clappingclapping I've never understood why ppl didn't get this. I'll admit that I was one of the ppl who were fooled, but I found out the truth. She even said it from her own mouth in a Sister 2 Sister article, which I can't find at the moment because I don't keep my magazines. Can anybody help with that?

Very well put Rhondab

That may or may not be true, but somehow being with Bobby Brown made her think it was okay to walk around acting like a crackhead in public, instead of keeping it behind closed doors.

I thought the show was awful in that it showed two addicts acting a fool and neglecting their child. Why would you have a show with ppl in active addiction.

Personally, I thought the show was great. Very funny, and I really *liked* Whitney in it. Yeah, she was acting a little bit off the wall, but she seemed to know what was going on. It gave a much better impression than most of her interviews in the last few years.

What would cement her "legend" status is HOW she bounces OUT tha "crack house" BACK into the "house of hits" (not base-LOL!!!) and make a comeback BIGGER than Mariah's!!!!! No comeback could EVER top THAT ONE, unless of course Luther & Rick HAD lived.....

It pisses me off when people compare Whitney Houston's story to Billie Holiday's.

Whitney led a great life (she had a good childhood, she was beautiful, talented as hell, she lived in comfortably, she was a success, she was respected) but she wasted it on parties, drugs, and alcohol. That is where all her troubles came from. Drugs, alcohol - she just couldn't resist the hedonistic lifestyle that fame allows to have. She's having no regrets, 'hey it's rock'n'roll life' she boasted to Wendy William during the infamous interview.

Billie Holiday was born to a teenager, estranged by her father, raped at the age of 10. She ended up in NYC, with no money, allegedly selling her body for living, homeless. Even after she gained fame she had to face discrimination from both sides of the color line, she was abused by her husbands. I'm not a psychologist and I don't claim that my point of view is the right perspective, but I think Billie's addiction was her way (a bad way nonetheless) of coping with her demons.

I'm not trying to justify Lady Days actions - she was no sweetheart by no means. It just strikes me when people justify Whitney recklessness comparing her to Billie Holiday

It's fake, but the conversation has kind of evolved into a discusssion (another discussion) of Whitney's decline. It's not about what "she said" anymore. That may be where the discussion started, but that's not what it's about anymore.

This conversation happens whenever someone mentions Whitney's name. Just leave alone and it will die on it's on lol
