HUNKY DORY...amazing album really shows off his songwriting with folk/rock album

ZIGGY STARDUST....his masterpiece..the epitone of Glam Rock

ALADDIN SANE...a continuation of 'Ziggy'...really great record

I'm all about the early 70's Bowie..but he's gone through so many phases throughout his career.....but these three albums are why I love him so!

you wont be dissapointed...

After I wore out my best-of Bowie comp, those were the first three studio albums I bought. I love them.

I always recommend Aladdin Sane for those just looking to get into Bowie.. it seems like a good place to start smile

But really, you might want to start with the Best of Bowie 2-disc compilation, it's a decent career overview if you just want a taste of each of his different eras.

With Bowie's catalog, you can't go wrong with any album released between Hunky Dory and Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps). There are only great albums and greater albums.

My starting points would either be Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust (his Purple Rain), Station to Station, or Aladdin Sane.

love me some Bowie.

I'd say Station to Station. That album is a f*cking revelation.

As a starter, get the best of Bowie 2 disc set, OK its hits, but none of Bowies hits have ever sounded that poppy, hes a deep artist and u have 2 really get into him to be a fan. The disc set is great it covers everything from Space Oddity (1969) to 2002's Heathen (The song Slow Burn is amazing). As u will see bowie is the original chameleon, he changes his image all the time and that is what keeps him exciting, try it and try all those others the other guys recommended but also these

Scary Monsters and Super creeps (1980)
Lets Dance (1983)
Labyrinth soundtrack (1986) and see Movie, its got the scariest mullet ever,
The Man who sold the world (1970)
Space Oddity (1969) Daves hippy phase
David Bowie (also known as 'Love u until Tuesday') his camp, moddish gay phase)
(1966 or 1967)
Pin Ups (1973)
Diamond Dogs (1974)
