Tom Petty ~ Highway Companion

I'd be interested in hearing what you guys think of it.

I have always loved Tom Petty and I think the album is ok...but not everything I was hoping for.

Saving Grace is the best on the album IMHO, but it does sound a little like Baby did a bad bad thing...to me.

Big weekend is way to much like Bad moon on the rise ...I guess that's why he didn't get all bent out of shape about the Chilli Peppers ripping him off. lol

I need to learn to type edit. confused

I didn't like it too much, but it's OK. I haven't listened to it more than once which says alot. He's one of my all-time favorites. Starting with Wildflowers he has the tendency to be too quiet and hippy-like on some of his songs. He doesn't rock out as well as he used to. You can usually guess the sucky songs just by the titles.

lol I'm listening to it now and I listened to it on Friday... wasn't in a rush to hear it again.

I heart The Last DJ, that came after Wildflowers and it rocks.

I love love love "You Wreck Me", but Wildflowers didn't do it for me. I actually liked Echo better than either of those. shrug

I heard a few luke warm reviews from it. I didnt wanna put up the dough. I still listen to Wildflowers to this day though. Sweeny mentioned the Chilli Peppers. I am sorta disappointed with Stadium Arcadium. It didnt have to be a double album. Most of it sounds like odds and ends from the Californication/By The Way days.

Damn the Torpedoes and Full Moon Fever are the two best albums he's done. For different reasons and different moods. I love pretty much anything before Wildflowers and then She's the One(although I throw up when I hear Angel Dream) and Echo I liked.

I haven't coughed up the money for Stadium Arcadium yet, but I heard someone elses copy and it sounded like a lot of the same bull as before. :nod;
