Roberta Flack--->>Any fans?? Boy, this ol' sistah set my mood straight everytime I hear her sing or play one of her piano licks.Classy, urbane, reserved, smooth, and sophisticated are still NOT enough 2 describe her talent. My only beef with the woman is she didn't release an instrumental LP, sumthin 2 showcase her musical talent ya know?? And what about not hearing from her since 1995?? Yo, thats crazy. Speaking of 1995"Roberta", ya'll have got 2 check out her version of Al Green's "Let's stay 2ghether" ITS THE BEST VERSION, another killer song called 'It might be you' which def worth the listen.
I hate the fact that they call Miss Keys as the new Roberta Flack/Nina Simone, not that I don't like her matter o' fact I love her but she simply don't deserve that ACT,,,NO SIR. But ya know what?? I only got 1 word 4 them critics which is What-eva. Alright nah, I'll b waiting 4 some old timers 2 step in and make GREAT REVIEWS about her ol' school joints. Just don't make a sistah wait too long ya'll Holla

This may be a bit backwards-assed, but when I think of Roberta I miss Donny Hathaway even more. I love Roberta, and I hate what The Fugees did to Killing Me Softly. Not necessarily the Fugees, but WYCLEF himself, with his "one time, two times..." chants that did NOTHING to enhance the song. It just kills the spirit of the lyrics. That b-boy junk has no place in a song like "Killing Me Softly"!
And I like every duet she and Donny Hathaway sang. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Yeah Ur def not the only one since her "F/T Donny Hathaway" is HER best LP. L-Boogie did a GREAT jop covering that song, what are you talking about?? Just her voice and a drum beat THATS IT. No music, no over-produced track version, no remix and I think thats too bald(Not strange coming from such a talented sistah like Lauryn ). And um lol I feel you about Clef's chants . BTW if you don't like their version then go listen to Alicia's live version . Boy, my fucking ears bleed everytime I hear that shit, its like scratching on a class board,,whheeeooo!

I never said anything about Lauryn's performance, though the song is still not up to par for me, overall. I just think Wyclef KILLED it. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

I Like Her Singing&Playing.I think back in the day She was Considered too Soft&Pop until She worked with Donny Hathaway. He brought alot of Soul to Her Sound IMHO.but since the Fugees,to Lauyren Solo to Alicia Keys Roberta Flack on the Female Neo-Soul Artist is what Stevie WOnder is to the Fellas the Standard."Killing Me Softly" Seems to be covered like crazy or some form of Respect is thrown Her Away alot more than even when She was in Her Prime as a Artist.strange how that works? but She is getting more Love now. mistermaxxx

Man, I grew up listening to Roberta Flack. I think she has that quiet powerhouse about her. She never came across like this diva that demanded attention. I'm sure I heard her music through my parents. Need to check out was is left of the 45's to see if she's a part of it. That was my first introduction to Donny Hathaway. I didn't listen to him as solo artist, but he obviously left an impression on many younger musicians and singers out today. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
