Rage Against the Machine vs. Audioslave

I was listening to both records as i was cleaning house earlier in the morning. MY pick, Rage anyday of the week and twice on Sunday. More energy, better live, and Zacky D is a helluva better front man than Chris Cornell, especially live!
Carpenters bend wood, fletchers bend arrows, wise men fashion themselves.

Audioslave is, as my boyfriend would say, like kissing your sister. There's really no point.

Rage headbang

giggle
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

Sounds like a theme...I'll roll.

Audioslave is like: square wheels.

This question shouldn't have to be asked. RATM = one of the greatest bands ever.

Chris Cornell was good in Soundgarden, but I'm not a fan of Audioslave at all.

Audioslave have a new album out on 4th September called Revelations, hopefully they'll finally get it right this time. The other two albums haven't really done it for me.

Ive got Audioslaves debut and i like it, but it dangles precariously close to 'middle of the road' and that's the last thing i want from one of the greatest guitarists of our generation in Tom Morello.

RATM were simply amazing. Still gutted that i never got to see them live. One of the greatest Rock n Roll bands ever with their debut album well and truly in my Top 5 of all time.

Sleep Now in the Fire Lyrics

The world is my expense
The cost of my desire
Jesus blessed me with its future
And I protect it with fire
So raise your fists
And march around
Just dont take what you need
Ill jail and bury those committed
And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or Ill drag you to your grave
Im deep inside your children
Theyll betray you in my name

hey,hey
Sleep now in the fire

The lie is my expense
The scope of my desire
The party blessed me with its future
And I protect it with fire
I am the Nina The Pinta The Santa Maria
The noose and the rapist
The fields overseer
The agents of orange
The priests of Hiroshima
The cost of my desire
Sleep now in the fire

hey,hey
Sleep now in the fire

For its the end of history
Its caged and frozen still
There is no other pill to take
So swallow the one
That made you ill
The Nina The Pinta The Santa Maria
The noose and the rapist
The fields overseer
The agents of orange
The priests of Hiroshima
The cost of my desire
To Sleep now in the fire

No contest. Audiosalves debut was ok. Actually, the mellow songs (especially Like a Stone) was really good. But eventuall everything began to sound the same to me. I wasnt feeling that last album at all. But Rage...man those cats never let up.Thye have a live dvd( I forget the name of it) of their last performance that is on fucking fire. It also includes footage of their performance outside of the Democratic National Convention in 2000. I nver saw them live either, but that dvd makes up for it. Rick Rubin handled the sound so of couse its amazing. music

of course i respect your opinion, and there are a lot of adjectives that have been used to describe RATM, but thats the first time Ive ever seen "boring" as one of them.

I like both bands. I love Chris but I gotta say Zach was AWESOME!!!! Mic Check is one of my faves!! I feel like RATM has more energy than Audioslave but yeh. Zach is off somewhere else. The musicians play very good together. As long as they don't break up I'm happy!!!!!
