Sandra St. Victor's bad attitude Wasn't she totally shady about the song she wrote for Prince (Soul Sanctuary)?
I love her attitude but it seems like she can be the biggest bitch on the planet sometimes Maybe I just caught this attitude out of context She needs to stick with the family stand because I wasn't too feeling her solo stuff. Mack Diva is mostly satisfying, although that shit is worth the price of admission just for knocked up locked down But her album Gemini, I absolutely hated. Is she working on anything new? She needs to because she is hella talented. . [Edited 7/27/06 14:16pm] 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

she comes across to me as someone who was minorly burned from working with prince, and maybe she lucked out by not having to sign a confidentiality agreement, so she tried to tell her story to whoever would listen...but it's really not much of a story. she wrote something for prince, he credited her, she got a tiny check. kinda assholish of him maybe i guess, but no big scandal. she has a nice voice, for what it's worth.

Prince asked her if she wanted to collaborate, so she sent him some songs and he finished them/reworked/re-wrote/recorded/whatever them. She was pretty taken aback because she assumed they were actually going to work together on them. He kept them and used (some of) them and gave her credit. One of the major wrinkles though is that she had written a couple of them with someone else, and Prince hadn't bothered to check with her (about anything, really) so the third party didn't get credit/paid. that's the long and short of it. wasn't the situation she'd signed on for.

Very down to earth and very real. Not a bad bone in this lady's body. Now as for her dealings with Prince, we'll never know the true story. However, let's just say that SSV is one of those rare entertainers with a pure heart.

Prince fans always figure out a way to blame the other person for Prince's bad business dealings.
If Prince shot someone in the face, his fans would expect the person to apologize to "the man" for putting their face in the way of his gun.

You obviously don't know jack crap about me because I have no problem shooting Prince in the face. I'm no blind sheep. I've criticized him plenty. I didn't know the story really. I thought she wasn't happy with the way he sang her song or something. Business dealing is something altogether different and I wouldn't blame her for being a straight out cunt 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

That's her side of it anyway, and she never shies away from telling it.

I got SSV's Mack Diva CD for a dollar at a pawn shop.
How can you beat that? Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.
